It has been brought to my attention that antisemitic graffiti was recently discovered on a bathroom wall at
Ridgewood High School. This incident was immediately reported to the Ridgewood Police Department, and a thorough investigation is currently underway. The Ridgewood Public School District prides itself on being a diverse and inclusive community where all individuals are valued and treated with respect. Incidents of this nature go against our core values and beliefs and will not be tolerated.

Ridgewood NJ, it appears high winds were the culprit , according to the Ridgewood Police Department, West Glen Avenue was closed between Heights and Hillcrest due to a utility emergency which caused power outages in the area. PSE&G was on scene attempting to restore power.

Ridgewood NJ, December 2nd – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – East Ridgewood Avenue, from Maple Avenue to Broad Street – The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Downtown for the Holidays – Come to the East Side, the West Side, and all around the Central Business District for this family friendly annual event, where the streets are closed to vehicles on East Ridgewood Avenue, creating a pedestrian plaza from North Maple Avenue to Broad Street.

Missing person update , Unfortunately, Ridgewood resident Deanne Dunne has been found deceased in the Borough of Hawthorne. The Hawthorne Police are investigating the incident with the assistance of the Passaic County Prosecutors Office. At this time, no foul play is suspected. Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

Ridgewood NJ, Deanne Dunne is missing. She left home this morning from the Travell neighborhood in a gray Honda Oddessy to run errands without her phone, and there has been no contact since then.

Ridgewood NJ, all Village offices will be closed on Monday, October 10th, in observance of the Columbus Day holiday. There will be no garbage or recycling pick up on this day and the Recycling Center will also be closed.

Ridgewood NJ, an adult occupant of a 4-door Mazda 3 was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a two (2) vehicle, Saturday evening collision in the 100 block of South Maple Avenue, Ridgewood. The victim’s injuries appeared to have been non-life threatening in nature. Both vehicles involved in the collision were towed from the scene. Ridgewood Police Department, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood Emergency Services officers/firefighters/EMTs responded to the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce and the Ridgewood Police Department along with the Ridgewood Fire Department and Ridgewood Emergency Services hosted a “Touch a Truck” event at two locations Van Nest Square Park and Wilsey Square. The family friendly event featured all the different Village vehicles and equipment from from 10:00 to 2:00.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Department personnel quickly extinguished a smokey kitchen fire in a single family, split level home located within the 400 block of Lucille Court, Ridgewood on Friday afternoon, 08/05. No injuries were reported by either the lone adult female occupant or any firefighters. Damage to the home was light. Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood Police Department, and Ridgewood OEM representatives were on the scene. The cause appears to be a toaster oven .

Ridgewood Nj, Ridgewood Police once again held the Chief Michael Feeney Junior Police Academy . This was the 9th annual Ridgewood Police Department Chief Michael Feeney Jr Police Academy. The Academy ran from June 27th to July 1st. The mission of the junior police academy is for students to learn and experience what emergency services do while serving the community.
