Ridgewood NJ, there have been multiple reports of diners being hit with water bottles tossed off the Hudson Garage . Last Thursday evening around 6:30pm a group of dinners at Pearl were hit by water bottles and the Ridgewood Police were forced to respond after a 911 call was placed.

Ridgewood NJ, The Law Enforcement Torch Run – Special Olympics made its way through parts of Ridgewood this morning. Two (2) Ridgewood Police officers participated as running torch bearers in the annual event.
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to 9-1-1 reports of a heated dispute at the Wilde Park basketball court involving two large groups some of whom decided to arm themselves with baseball bats. The responding officers, assisted by reinforcements from the Ridgewood and Fair Lawn Police Departments, were eventually able to deescalate and disperse those involved. No injuries or property damage occurred, and no one present claimed to be a victim or requested any police assistance. Later it was reported that the conflict lasted about 10 minutes and NO Baseball bats were found .
Ridgewood NJ, perfect weather for opening day at Graydon Pool was dampened by incident in which a child was apparently seriously injured while swimming in the pool’s “shallow” area. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire, and Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel rushed to assist in the child’s safe removal from the pool and transfer to a waiting ambulance. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Ridgewood EMTs. The victim was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. The child’s guardians/parents were at the pool when the incident occurred.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate an adult male driver from a silver SUV involved in a two (2) vehicle, Friday afternoon, 06/04, collision at the intersection of Fairmount Road and Hillcrest Road, Ridgewood. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood EMS, and a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital also responded to aid the victim. The driver of the other vehicle involved was apparently uninjured. Ridgewood Police issued two (2) crash related summonses at the scene. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Ridgewood NJ, Pride Month is celebrated every June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Riots. The original organizers chose this month to pay homage to the Stonewall uprising in June 1969 in New York City, which helped spark the modern gay rights movement. Most Pride events take place each year in June, although some cities hold their celebrations at other times of the year.
Ridgewood NJ, no firm word on what this was all about. Ridgewood Police showed up at the owner’s request to verify that the order/warrant was legit. They did, and left the scene. Sheriff’s officers were there throughout the day. Appears to be a civil matter but can’t be confirmed. The closed for inventory signs went up after the sheriffs officers left.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Bergen County Hazmat personnel investigated a diesel fuel spill in the 300 block of Knollwood Road on Saturday morning. The spill was reported by a resident who was walking her dog in the area.

Grewal today announced Directive 2021-5, and an accompanying Body Worn Camera Policy, requiring that all uniformed patrol officers be equipped with body worn cameras (“BWCs”), expanding the law’s mandate to additional officers, and ensuring appropriate use of BWCs.
Glen Rock NJ, according to the Glen Rock Police a Ridgewood man was issued summonses after he struck a utility pole in Glen Rock and left the scene of the accident. He told officers later that he had swerved to avoid a fox.

Ridgewood NJ, both drivers of two (2) SUVs that collided at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Northern Parkway on Thursday afternoon, 05/20, were shaken up quite a bit, but declined ambulance transportation after being evaluated at the scene by Ridgewood EMTs, Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood EMS responded to the incident. Both heavily damaged vehicles were towed away from the scene .
