Ridgewood NJ, Residents and officials across New Jersey are grappling with an unusual mystery: the repeated sightings of large drones in the skies over central and northern parts of the state. These unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), spotted since mid-November, have prompted a flurry of concerns, from public safety to national security.
The Village is aware that drones have been sighted over Ridgewood, and the Police Department has reported all sightings to both county and federal agencies through the proper reporting chains. As information becomes available, it will be shared with residents.

The work will begin at 7:00 am at the intersection of Godwin Avenue, and continue down Ackerman Avenue toward South Broad Street. Detours will be in place. Please build extra time into your schedule if you will be driving in this area.

Ridgewood NJ, a tractor trailer driver narrowly avoided a life-threatening accident on Route 17 southbound in Ridgewood on Tuesday, October 22. The 40-year-old driver sustained only minor injuries after a malfunction occurred while he was troubleshooting his disabled vehicle on the roadside.

Midland Park NJ, tragedy struck Midland Park on Friday evening, at approximately 7:09 p.m., October 11th, when a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Godwin Avenue and Witte Drive. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson after being transported by the Midland Park Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to The Valley Hospital by Ridgewood Fire Department/EMS.
