New Fresh Coat Painters Business Comes to Ridgewood Area

New Fresh Coat Painters Business Comes to Ridgewood Area

August 6,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood, NJ,  Long-time friends and business partners Frank and Valerie O’Brien and Keith Hartig are pleased to announce the launch of their new professional painting business, Fresh Coat of Ridgewood.

Fresh Coat offers residential and commercial painting services including interior and exterior painting, wood staining and finishing, and other services for nearly every protective coating application. Their professional painters use quality, environmentally safe materials and the company offers a 24/7 receptionist, online scheduling and detailed quotes. Fresh Coat of Ridgewood serves Franklin Lakes, Mahwah, Paramus, Ramsey, Ridgewood, Waldwick, Wyckoff and the surrounding communities.

“We know from our own experience that it can be a real challenge to find a good painter you can trust. At Fresh Coat, every customer is a priority, and we treat you that way.  We aren’t just coming in to put paint on walls – we want to make sure it’s done right, done professionally and done on time,” Keith said.

The idea to start a business started when Frank O’Brien, who has been a police officer for almost 9 years, decided he wanted to start planning his next steps. Frank and Valerie have friends in Texas who own the Fresh Coat franchise in Denton, so they started asking questions.

“It all spiraled from there and we asked Keith, who we’ve been friends with for a long time, if he wanted to come on board. Valerie has an office management background and Keith is experienced in customer service and sales, so it’s really a perfect fit for us to be working together,” Frank said.

For the owners, opening Fresh Coat is all about bringing a new, high quality painting business to their community and giving people a new, better option, whether they’re looking to have one wall painted or a whole house painted.

“Valerie and I  – and Keith and his wife – bought houses in Bergen County and we’ve realized how subpar the painting industry was in our area. It was nearly impossible for us to get a call back from a quality painter, let alone a decent quote. At Fresh Coat, we offer a different level of customer service and professionalism. We want to change the industry,” Frank said.

As part of their commitment to customer service, Fresh Coat offers a 3-3-3 customer service pledge, so calls will be answered by a live person within three rings, a quote will be delivered within three days (customer schedule permitting) and the job will be started within three weeks.

Fresh Coat was founded in 2004 as part of Strategic Franchising Systems. Since 2015, Fresh Coat has been included in the Bond’s Top 100 and named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 list. Fresh Coat is also part of the International Franchise Association, the Small Business Association’s Franchise Registry, VetFran and Minority Fran. All Fresh Coat employees are trained, dependable, fully insured and background-checked and Fresh Coat of Ridgewood is bonded and insured.

One Love Bike+Barre Studio Ridgewood

One Love Bike+Barre Studio Ridgewood

People don’t know that when Jennifer moved into the building, she actually joined the Elks Club. This was an asset to our membership which increase the past 3 years.

She was a loyal member since moving in and my hats off to her and her staff.
As I know first hand, it was a land grab by the National Elks organization.
They are really a Mafia. They recently did this to my dad’s Elks in New Rochelle.
As for parking illegally at Kings  you have no idea what you’re talking about
They have 15 spots in the back and their classes hold less than that.
Taking up some of their spots are employees at the library and people visiting the library.
In addition, library patrons park at kings all day.

Multi-use pathway/Bicycle-Pedestrian Path: This bike and pedestrian path travels from Ridgewood to Rochelle Park and is approximately 6 miles in length. This continuous path runs through Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Fair Lawn, Paramus, Saddle Brook and Rochelle Park and under Route 4. This path also follows the Saddle River and Ho-Ho-Kus Brook and passes by the Historic Easton Tower at Route 4. The path features a scenic waterfall at Dunkerhook Park, and there are three ponds, tree shaded picnic areas, pavilions, playgrounds, tennis courts and athletic fields accessible along the path.

IMG 0992

Readers have often commented on the poor shape of some of the recreation areas as well as the actual duck pond it self .

One read asks ,”So why does the Duck Pond look like such sh$t! It is the first thing you see when you come into Ridgewood and it looks horrible. When are they going to fix it once and for all!

Another reader commented , the “Water flow at duck pond should be fixed ..the active Brook river water flows and curves through the south side of the park..creativity please

Save the Pond from its stagnant phases create a conduit into and out of the Brook with Storm shut off valves to protect the ADJOINING properties on the north side of the Pond..storm water discharges into the pond in heavy rail..but not enough through volumes to keep the pond alive.”

Christie Vetoes “Airbnb” Tax Bill

Airbnb

July 23,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Gov. Chris Christie vetoed legislation on Friday that would have imposed taxes on the state’s burgeoning “home-sharing” industry.

The bill was an effort to target and regulate an industry dominated by San Francisco-based Airbnb, even as some municipalities in the state move toward banning the practice within their borders.

According to committee testimony Airbnb had 260,000 rentals in New Jersey last year alone and some municipalities such as Jersey City and Newark already have reached agreements with Airbnb to collect 6 percent fees. Other towns primarily those in Atlantic and Cape May counties, and near the New Jersey Meadowlands are permitted to charge additional taxes and fees.

Currently about 17 towns In New Jersey, mostly in Northern New Jersey closer to New York City, have chosen to bar such rentals, including Palisades Park, Englewood Cliffs, Fort Lee, Lyndhurt and Glen Rock.

Not surprisingly the bill two major proponents are the New Jersey Hotel and Lodging Association and the New Jersey Restaurant and Hospitality Association.
