Glen Rock NJ, according to NJ Transit Police there are over 300 public grade crossings throughout the NJ TRANSIT system. Each, with warning signals and signs to keep you safe. Recently, there has been an unfortunate increase in grade crossing incidents. Accidents happen when pedestrians or drivers disregard warning signals and go around active crossing gates. This is illegal and it is EXTREMELY dangerous. Far too often, an attempt to beat the train, becomes a tragic, yet avoidable mistake. For the safety of yourself, NJ TRANSIT train crews, and passengers; please follow all grade crossing safety signals.

You go to the gym, get bagels, get your groceries. There’s so many things you do in a vehicle that is sized for the maximum number of passengers when most of the time you’re not using it.”

The Best-laid Plans of Mice and Men Often Go Awry…the Hudson Parking Garage

Hudson garage

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, since 1927 Village moms and  dads have complained about inadequate parking in Ridgewood’s  central business district . In the late 1960’s parking meters were added to the CBD to pay for a future parking garage , the chance was misplaced . Plans were drawn up over and over  and finally after much debate in early September of 2019 the Village Council pushed forward with the Hudson Garage . Progress came quickly ,but in March of 2019 COVID19  struck , wiping out the demand for commuter spaces  . then restaurants were shut down leaving the Village with a great white parking garage elephant . While things have started to return to some semblance of normal with outdoor dinning ,now partial indoor dinning .  Al Gore’s internet continues to steal retail sales ,restaurants are struggling to survive  and commuters may never return .  At lest the massive high density housing projects will now have access to more parking .
