Twp of Washington NJ, Sunday morning the Washington Township responded to a working house fire in the township. The fire was under control in about 30 minutes. The quick response by the fire department enabled us to contain the fire to the garage saving the home from extensive damage. No injuries were reported. Mutual aid was requested from Woodcliff Lake for a FAST team and Westwood and Ho-Ho-Kus for coverage of the town. Also responding were ambulances from Hillsdale VAC and Valley Hospital. We thank all of our mutual aid for their assistance. A big shout out to the wives of the firefighters today. They came out in the rain, brought water and coffee for our members and it was greatly appreciated.

Twp . of Washington NJ, MOSQUITO SPRAYING TOMORROW – 10/6/21 – The BC Mosquito Control will be performing an early morning ULV Truck Spray in the Township on Wednesday October 6, 2021 between the hours of 4-6 AM. They will be spraying duet adulticide to eliminate active, adult mosquitoes as well as Vectobac larvacide to help control the mosquito larvae. As a precaution, please keep your windows closed. In the event that it rains, the spray will be postponed until the following day. Ridgewood NJ, 9/11 remembrances were held across Bergen county . The Village of Ridgewood lost 12 neighbors on that day and the Village of Ridgewood hosted a 9/11 remembrance to remember and honor all those tragically lost on 9/11 at Memorial Park at Van Neste Square .

Twp.of Washington NJ, Wednesday morning the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported truck fire on the Garden State Parkway North. Due to the fact that there are no fire hydrants on the Parkway an additional Engine was requested from Paramus Fire Co. 1 for additional water supply. Great job by our volunteers with a quick knockdown of the fire.

Paramus NJ, Christopher Righetti was denied parole once again . Righetti is serving a life sentence, for the rape and murder of Kim Montelaro a graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy high school, then a 20 year old law student who he abducted at knifepoint from a popular shopping mall and forced into woods near the Pine Lake Swim Club in Township of Washington .

Twp of Washington NJ, a trailer loaded with scrap metal buckled and dropped to the roadway while being pulled by a tractor southbound in the 500 block of Pascack Road, Washington Township on Tuesday morning, 07/13. No injuries were reported in the incident. Washington Township Police closed a portion of Pascack Road while the trailer’s contents were off-loaded before it was removed from the scene by a heavy duty wrecker. Police at the scene indicated that several summons would likely be issued in connection with the mishap.
