West Milford NJ, the Jennings Creek wildfire continues to blaze through rugged terrain in Passaic County, NJ, and into Orange County, NY, as firefighters work tirelessly to contain the flames. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service has teamed up with the New York Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Forest Protection and Fire Management in a unified command to manage the complex wildfire, which has now scorched over 5,000 acres.

West Milford Police Searching for Owner of a Dog found Dead in Woods

West Milford NJ, the West Milford police are seeking the owner of a deceased dog found in the woods. The dog, a male husky, was discovered in the woods off Clinton Road near Schoolhouse Cove Road. He was wearing a black nylon tactical-style collar but had no identification tags and was not microchipped. The authorities have determined that the dog does not belong to any local shelters. The West Milford Animal Shelter Society is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the identification of the dog and its owner. The dog’s death is under investigation as a criminal matter. UPDATE: New Jersey Forest Fire Service: wildfire in West Milford Township off Route 23 and Echo Lake Road is now 65% Contained

At 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service achieved 100 percent containment of a 972-acre wildfire in West Milford Township on Newark Watershed property.

West Milford NJ, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service continues to make significant progress in efforts to contain a wildfire in West Milford Township off Route 23 and Echo Lake Road. The fire remains at 972-acres in size and is now 65% contained.

Crews have continued to reinforce containment lines on the ground and by air. Containment is expected to continue to increase over the next several hours as lines are improved.

Senator Anthony M. Bucco said he’s working with State and local officials to monitor a wildfire that has spread to 250 acres along a section of Route 23 in West Milford.

Man Indicted for Allegedly Dumping Raw Sewage into a West Milford Lake

West Milford Becomes First NJ Town To Declare Itself a 2A Sanctuary

West Milford NJ, West Milford is now a self-proclaimed “sanctuary township” for law-abiding gun owners, though the provocative designation is purely symbolic.
