Ridgewood Nj the national Weather Service warns of Below Zero Wind Chills Tonight into Saturday Morning. An arctic cold front will move across the region early this morning, bringing some of the coldest air of the season. Along with gusty winds approaching 40 mph, this will produce wind chills of 5 to 15 below zero Friday night into Saturday morning. Some isolated values of less than 15 below are possible. With an anomalously warm winter, many are not acclimated to such cold temperatures and such cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

Ridgewood NJ, PATCHY BLACK ICE AND SUB-ZERO WIND CHILLS INTO SATURDAY AM. Air temperatures are quickly dropping into the teens and 20s, which may result in patchy black ice on elevated roadways, overpasses and bridges for the evening commute. Black ice is nearly impossible to see and roadways may appear only wet. Please use extreme caution, especially on bridges, overpasses and around curves through the evening commute.

Allow plenty of stopping distance and avoid braking suddenly. In addition, gusty west winds will produce wind chill values between 5 and 15 below zero this evening through Saturday morning, with air temperatures in the single digits and teens. Frostbite can occur in a short amount of time, dress in layers and make sure all exposed skin is protected.

Cold and Slippery Travel Conditions This Moring for Ridgewood and Surrounding Areas

Ridgewood Nj, the National Weather Service is warning Motorist that the leading edge of an area of light snow across New Jersey and Northeastern Pennsylvania will overspread the region through 9 am. Untreated and secondary roads will become quickly snow covered and slippery. Visibilities will quickly drop down to 2 to 3 miles.

Motorists are advised to use caution and slow down this morning. 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected today, highest south and east, making for slippery travel conditions.

Windchills as low as 10 to 15 degrees below zero are likely New Year Eve Night into New Year Day morning, and possibly also for Monday
Night into Tuesday morning.
