All animals are accounted for.The Wyckoff Police Department has full control of this open investigation. Any information or questions can be sent to the Wyckoff Police Department. Wyckoff NJ, Wyckoff Police, Wyckoff EMS, and Wyckoff Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash with rollover on Friday afternoon, 08/21, on the Russell Avenue Route 208 overpass. The occupants of the vehicle, a yellow Jeep, self extricated prior to the arrival of emergency responders. Injuries were very minor in nature. A flatbed tow truck righted the Jeep and removed it from the scene. Hawthorne Police and the Wyckoff Fire Police assisted with traffic control.

Wyckoff NJ, One week after Tropical Storm Isaias hit, thousands of New Jersey residents are still in the dark. At the peak of Tuesday’s storm, over 1.4 million people were in the dark, and there were still about 5,340 Garden State residents without power Monday morning.

Wyckoff NJ, While answering multiple fire calls this morning, the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a residential home for smoke filling the home. Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working fire and requested a second alarm to be dispatched. The fire was quickly knocked down and brought under control. Thank you to all the mutual aid that responded for their assistance. Our thoughts are with the owners of the home.

Wyckoff NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday, August 1, 2020, near the intersection of Wyckoff Avenue and Newtown Road in Wyckoff, NJ. The investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Wyckoff Police Department under the direction of Chief David Murphy.

Wyckoff NJ, Yesterday at 12:02 PM the Wyckoff Fire Department was dispatched for an motor vehicle accident on William Way. The vehicle was traveling on route 208 S and left the roadway and ended up in the back yard of a house on William Way. The driver was not injured. The Wyckoff fire Department assisted removing the debris from and around the vehicle for removal.

Wyckoff NJ, On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at approximately 07:27 hrs., patrol units from the Wyckoff Police Department were dispatched to the Gourmet Garden Restaurant at 85 Crescent Avenue on a report of “Corona Virus” and Bias graffiti spray painted on the doors, windows and sidewalk area of the business. The Wyckoff Police Department Detective Bureau and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to process the scene. In consultation with The Bergen County Prosecutors Office, they have identified this as a Bias Crime. The investigation thus far shows no other reason for the crime other than the ethnicity of the business and its owners. At this time, if caught, the actor(s) will face charges consistent with Bias Intimidation and Criminal Mischief. If the investigation reveals additional information, other charges may be applicable.

Wyckoff NJ, the Township of Wyckoff has approved a drop in the municipal property tax rate. The change was approved by the Township Committee at its budget hearing, lowering property taxes on the average home valued at $793,800, by $5.56 to $2,002.76.
The 2020 municipal budget, excluding grants, is $20,087,460, up $366,749 or 1.86%. The municipal amount to be raised by taxes, excluding the state-mandated $1.56 million for the library, is $11,940,626, up $4,123 or 0.03% . The municipal tax rate is down 0.00007 cents per $100 assessed valuation from 0.253 to 0.2523.
