Montvale Residents Report Catalytic Converter Thefts

26 Year Old Real Estate Agent Charged In Fatal Hit and Run in Garfield

Garfield NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of VICTOR DIAZ-CASTANEDA (DOB: 2/16/1996; single; real estate agent) of 564 E. 23rd Street, Paterson, NJ for knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death and endangering an injured victim. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Garfield Police Department under the direction of Chief Richard Uram.

Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation in Fort Lee

Fort Lee NJ, according to the Fort Lee Police Department earlier this afternoon(Tuesday) there was a law enforcement incident in the area of Palisade Avenue and Whiteman Street. The area is safe. At no time was there a threat to any of our schools. Law enforcement officials remain on scene at this time. Whiteman Street is closed to traffic between Gerome Avenue and Palisade Avenue.

Spring 2023 New Jersey Film Festival Preview

New Brunswick NJ, the 41st Bi-Annual New Jersey Film Festival will take place on select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between January 27-February 19, 2023. The Festival will be a hybrid one as they will be presenting it online as well as doing in-person screenings at Rutgers University. Westwood NJ, Yesterday January 9th , was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Between December 31, 2021 and December 31, 2022 – 61 officers were killed, nationwide, in the line of duty. 58 were intentionally shot. 3 were killed by cars used as deadly weapons. 34 were killed answering 911 calls and 23 answering domestic disturbances. 35 were killed in set-up ambushes.55 of the 61 were murdered by perpetrators who were either in the midst of committing crimes; or who were wanted criminals with outstanding warrants.
