Chain Reaction Crash Temporarily Shut down the Southbound Garden State Parkway’s Express Lanes in Twp of Washington

Twp. of Washington NJ, a multiple vehicle, chain reaction crash with injuries temporarily shut down the southbound Garden State Parkway’s express lanes in Twp of Washington late Wednesday night, 10/12. Several vehicles were towed from the shuttered highway; multiple tow trucks were called to assist in the process. Washington Township Police officers, Washington Township firefighters, Washington Township EMS EMTs, NJSP Parkway Patrol Bloomfield Barracks troopers, and mutual aid EMTs responded to aid victims, attend to fluid spills, and investigate the crash.

With New Jersey’s 2013 online gambling legislation set to be updated, where will we see the change?

Under existing laws in New Jersey, legal online gambling in The Garden State could potentially cease after 2023. However, an Assembly committee will meet to discuss plans for licensed online gambling sites to continue operating for another decade. Certain forms of online gambling were legalized by authorities in New Jersey back in 2013, but the bill that was introduced only had a lifespan of just ten years.

Washington DC, the Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.4 percent in September, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Final demand prices declined 0.2 percent in August and 0.4 percent in July.

First Fall Regatta Yields Nine Medals For Ridgewood Crew

Ridgewood NJ,  Nereid Boat Club and Passaic River Rowing Association co-sponsored the Head of the Passaic River Regatta (HOPR) this weekend, a growing headrace located in Northern New Jersey on the tidal waters of the Passaic River. Conveniently located just 12 miles from New York City, the regatta attracts rowers from the tri-state area and beyond. The ~ 2.5 mile course passes through sections of Belleville, Clifton, Lyndhurst, and Nutley. The start is just half a mile downstream from the Nereid Boat Club, and the finish is roughly 1.5 miles downstream from the Passaic River Rowing Association. The course is challenging with two bridges, turns and tidal current.

World Famous Thin Crust Lido Pizza to Open Second Location in North Arlington

Hackensack NJ, Lido, the longtime Hackensack restaurant at 701 Main Street, is expanding with a new location.  Lido, is the home of the world famous thin crust Lido pizza. After reopening under new ownership back in late 2019, this “old school” business is ready for a second spot in North Arlington at 11-35 River Road. The ownership has been renovating the space formerly Centanni, getting ready to serve the award-winning thin crust pizza and sliced steak sandwiches the place is known for. Felix has been busy training the new staff at Lido North Arlington in the fine art of making a world famous thin crust Lido pizza!

Garbage Truck Fire Reported on California Street in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters responded to a reported garbage truck fire in the 100 block of California Street, Ridgewood on Tuesday, 10/11. The fire had self- extinguished prior to the arrival of fire department personnel. However, concerned about a possible rekindle of dumped truck contents, the incident commander retained all units at the scene until a front end loader arrived to remove the dumped material from the street. No injuries were reported in the incident. Ridgewood Police officers provided traffic control during the incident.

Bergen County Rowing Center Hosts it’s First Completion

Lyndhurst NJ, the brand new Bergen County Rowing Center hosted it’s first completion, the Passaic Regatta, since opening last month. Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco joined the Passaic River Rowing Association for this important milestone . The county executive along with many of us is looking forward to the continued growth of competitive rowing here in Bergen County!

Multiple Ambulances Required to Transport three (3) Victims from Ho-Ho-Kus Crash

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, multiple ambulances were required to transport three (3) victims from the scene of a Tuesday afternoon, 10/11, collision between a mini-van and work van at the intersection of Wearimus Road and Deerhill Road, Ho-Ho-Kus. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ho-Ho-Kus Police issued one (1) summons to the mini-van’s driver. Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department, Ho-Ho-Kus EMS, and New Jersey Mobile Health Care officers/firefighters/EMTs responded to aid the victims.
