New Bill Threatens Livelihoods of Temporary Workers in New Jersey

EAST BRUNSWICK NJ, many economists around the nation are predicting the United States is heading towards a recession. As companies face pay cuts and layoffs, temporary workers are often brought in to keep company headcount and employee tax low. New Jersey lawmakers are now considering a bill to make it hard for companies to hire these temporary workers, for staffing agencies to help companies find this work, and for employees to have temporary jobs.

FUNDING FOR SPOTTED LANTERNFLY TREATMENT AVAILABLE TO ALL NEW JERSEY COUNTIES

Trenton NJ, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture has announced that reimbursement funding is available for all New Jersey counties for treatment of the spotted lanternfly. The funding amount can be as much as $15,000 and possibly more. The funds will be given to counties for costs they accrue for chemical treatment activities associated with spotted lanternfly control.

They can not be stolen in a data breach and users can’t be tricked into sharing them. The feature will be available on third-party devices through the use of QR codes. Apple plans to use Passkeys to completely replace passwords.

New Jersey Extends Permissions for Outdoor Dining to Support Restaurant Industry

East Rutherford  NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today signed a bill (S-2364 [t.e2ma.net]) to extend expanded permissions for restaurants, bars, distilleries, and breweries to use fixtures and equipment enabling them to serve patrons outdoors in private areas, on sidewalks, and in other municipally-designated outdoor areas. The permissions were set to expire November 30, 2022 but will now be extended by two additional years to support the food and beverage industry, patrons, and local communities by facilitating opportunities to serve customers outdoors.

Ridgewood  NJ, Senator Richard J. Codey and Senator Anthony M. Bucco today announced plans to introduce bipartisan legislation that would give law enforcement new tools to fight “an epidemic of car thefts, often organized by gangs that prey on at-risk juveniles.”

Rollover Crash on Broadway Eastbound near Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn Results in massive Rush Hour Traffic Back Up on Thursday

Fair Lawn NJ, A two (2) vehicle Thursday morning, 08/04, crash with rollover on Broadway eastbound near Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn resulted in massive rush hour traffic back ups on Broadway/Route 4 and Route 208. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Fire Department, and Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue responded to the incident. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS assisted. A flatbed tow truck righted the flipped vehicle (a Honda Civic), and removed both wrecks from the scene.

Englewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of LAMELLE PULLEY (DOB: 1/13/1985; single; maintenance worker) of Englewood, NJ on aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Englewood Police Department under the direction of Chief Thomas Greeley.
