Pedestrians Hit Crossing Cedar Hill Avenue in Wyckoff

Wyckoff NJ, an ambulance each from Midland Park and Wyckoff transported two (2) victims to local hospitals from the scene of a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at the intersection of Cedar Hill Avenue and Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff on Tuesday morning, 04/12. Both victims were believed to have been pedestrians who were attempting to cross Cedar Hill Avenue at the time they were struck by a passing vehicle. An individual thought to be the driver of a silver colored SUV parked at the crash site was observed being interviewed by several Wyckoff Police uniformed officers. Police at the scene did not say whether the victims were using the intersection’s crosswalks when struck, nor was there any information provided as to the likelihood of summonses being issued. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital assisted Midland Park and Wyckoff EMTs at the scene. Midland Park Police also provided assistance at the incident.

Paramus NJ, Monday morning, 04/11, a crash of a refrigerated box truck on South Farview Avenue in Paramus resulted in Paramus Police closing a section of the busy thoroughfare for hours, and Paramus firefighters being unable to respond to calls for service from nearby Fire Company #4 for a short period of time due to downed utility lines.

Hawthorne NJ, the Hawthorne Police Department is actively attempting to locate a missing 17 year old Autistic boy who resides on Prescott Ave.  The child has been missing since 0630 hours this morning.  The child’s name is Christopher Doughertty, 5’3′, 110 lbs., having an olive complexion with brown hair and brown eyes.  Last seen he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white stripe, black shorts, white socks and no shoes.  If located please immediately contact the Hawthorne Police Department (973) 427-1800. *Be advised there will be a NJ State Police helicopter in the area assisting with the search.*

He noted that the most popular accounts on Twitter are not very active and that bots were skewing Twitter’s active user numbers.
