UPDATE: Sept 1st, 2021 Village of Ridgewood Council Meeting CANCELLED

Ridgewood NJ, because of the severity of the storm that is scheduled to impact the area Wednesday night, the Village Council Meeting has been cancelled.

This Work Session has been rescheduled for 9/8/2021 at 5:30 p.m.  The Village Council’s Regular Public Meeting will be held on 9/8/2021 at 8:00 p.m.

Ridgewood Boy Scouts Troop #7 Recognizes 5 Eagle Scouts

Ridgewood NJ, on Saturday September 18 Troop 7 Ridgewood will recognize 5 Scouts that have achieved the rank of Eagle.  Bruce Dickson, Cole Hamon, Paul Nasr, Matt Rusch, and Philip Williams all earned the rank between January 2020 and June 2021.  The Eagle rank is the highest awarded by the Boy Scouts of America.  Each Scout will also receive at least 1 Eagle Palm which are awarded for completing 5 merit badges over what is required for the Eagle rank.  Nationwide over the last decade about 8% of all Boy Scouts have earned the Eagle rank, and only about a quarter of those Eagles earn a Palm.

Lyndhurst ,”AntiVaxMomma” Busted for allegedly selling counterfeit COVID-19 Vaccination Cards on Instagram

Lyndhurst NJ, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., today filed charges in Manhattan Criminal Court against fifteen individuals involved in a fake COVID-19 vaccination card conspiracy. As alleged, JASMINE CLIFFORD, 31, sold approximately 250 forged COVID-19 vaccination cards over Instagram, and worked with NADAYZA BARKLEY, 27, to fraudulently enter at least 10 individuals into the New York State Immunization Information System (“NYSIIS”) database. CLIFFORD and BARKLEY are charged in a Criminal Court complaint with Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, and Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree. CLIFFORD is additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree. Thirteen individuals who purchased the cards — all of whom are believed to work in frontline and essential-employee settings, including hospitals and nursing homes – were also charged.

Palisades Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of DAVID BAEZ (DOB: 7/21/1985; married; unemployed) and MASSIEL INOA (DOB: 2/7/1993; married; unemployed) of 267 Hillside Avenue, Palisades Park on drug related offenses. The arrests are the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Darrin DeWitt.

Rodent Issue Resurfaces in the Central Business District in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, the rat problem persists in the Central Business District . Once again sources are reporting a big rat problem behind Ridgewood coffee and apartments. Rats are not usually seen during the day unless disturbed from their protective harborage or because of intolerable competition from other rats. If rats are seen during the day that usually means a very large rodent population is nearby.
