Ridgewood NJ, demand that the Ridgewood Mayor, the New Jersey Attorney General, and the NJDEP do their due diligence to find the source of legacy contamination and stop this proposed harmful development!

Activists including the Sierra Club are urging residents to hold officials accountable and demand that the Ridgewood Mayor, New Jersey Attorney General, and NJDEP conduct a full investigation following the discovery of hazardous soil contamination. The 42 million pounds of ‘free soil’ obtained from various sources, including Ridgewood Water and Bergen County Community College, could ultimately cost the public millions, with no clear assessment of the health or environmental impacts. Despite public outcry, Ridgewood officials have refused to take action against those responsible.

Tenafly NJ, Thousands gathered in Tenafly, New Jersey, on Monday night for an emotional memorial marking one year since the deadly Hamas attack on Israel. The commemoration took place under a large tent outside the Kaplen JCC and was organized by the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. For the Tenafly community, the tragedy is personal, as it is home to the parents of Edan Alexander, a 20-year-old Tenafly High School graduate who remains one of around 100 hostages still held captive a year after the attack.

Allendale Police: No Threat to any borough school at this time, after shell casing was found at school

Allendale NJ, on October 1st, the Allendale Police Department was alerted by a school employee that a spent shell casing had been found inside one of the borough’s schools. At the time of the report, only a few staff members were present in the building. In response, the Allendale Police immediately ramped up patrols in the area and launched an investigation into the incident.
