Ridgewood Nj, Every year on April 7th, beer lovers across the nation raise their glasses in celebration of National Beer Day. This delightful occasion commemorates the day in 1933 when the Cullen-Harrison Act was enacted, allowing the legal sale of beer with an alcohol content of up to 3.2% by weight, marking the first step toward the end of Prohibition in the United States. Since then, April 7th has become a day to honor the rich history, diverse flavors, and social significance of one of the world’s oldest and most beloved beverages.

Glen Rock to Clean the Rock

Glen Rock NJ, according to the Glen Rock Historical & Preservation Society, work has begun…they have secured a grant from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities to clean and preserve our Rock!! Some work began this morning and the Society identified the survey marker used in the 1709 Ramapo Tract where the Rock was a dividing line. According to a Ramapo College history timeline, in 1720 there were only 60 people of Dutch/European descent living in all of Bergen County.

Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department Responds to Chemical Spill in Teterboro

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, around 730 pm  on Wednesday Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department responded to North Street in Teterboro for a chemical spill with one party injured. The injured party was removed by the department and turned over to be treated by EMS. Bergen County Hazmat assessed the scene and assisted with mitigation and cleanup.

Despite any lingering concerns about delayed rate cuts, the blowout report overshadowed them. In March, US payrolls surged by 303,000, surpassing all expectations. Additionally, the unemployment rate dipped to 3.8%, wages exhibited solid growth, and workforce participation saw an uptick, reaffirming the resilience of the labor market, which continues to drive the economy forward. As a result, all major groups in the S&P 500 experienced gains.

While the magnitude of the earthquake has not been officially reported, preliminary estimates suggest it may range between 4.0 and 5.0, with some estimates indicating 4.7 to 4.8.

Maywood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the conviction of AUGUSTO PEREZ of North Bergen, NJ in connection with the stabbing death of Omar Cruz on February 16, 2021. On April 5, 2024, after a six-week trial before the Honorable Susan J. Steele, J.S.C. in Bergen County Superior Court, AUGUSTO PEREZ was convicted of aggravated manslaughter and hindering apprehension.
