County of Bergen to Construct Completely Inclusive Playground

Hackensack NJ, County Executive James J. Tedesco, III, the Board of County Commissioners, and the County’s Parks Department are proud to announce that the County of Bergen recently received a matching $1 million grant from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and the Garden State Preservation Trust (GSPT) to construct a completely inclusive playground at Riverside County Park – South, located in the Borough of North Arlington and the Township of Lyndhurst.

Hackensack NJ, the Bergen County Department of Parks, Division of Cultural & Historic Affairs, announces the 2024 Bergen County History Grant Funding Program. The 2024 grant cycle is for history projects or programs taking place from January 1 through December 31, 2024. All Bergen County non-profit history organizations and other non-profits that present Bergen County-based history programs are invited to apply. Municipalities and libraries interested in presenting history-focused programs are also invited to apply.

According to Facebook posts , a female driver on Ridgewood Avenue near the church by Hope Street was driving on Ridgewood Avenue and a man in his 50’s darted out in the middle of the road causing the driver to stop short to prevent hitting the man. The man proceeded to drop his pants in the middle of the road. Police were called and are looking for him. He is in his 50’s and was last seen wearing a grey shirt and baggy pants.

The Children’s Environmental Health Center of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai strongly  discourages the installation of artificial turf playing surfaces and fields due to the uncertainties surrounding  the safety of these products and the potential for dangerous heat and chemical exposures.
