NFL 2020 Season: What Should We Expect From The New York Giants

ny giants

It’s been some time since the New York Giants have appeared on the biggest football stage, but could things be about to change this year? With a new head coach on board, the team and its fans will be hopeful that they’ll do better during the 2020 NFL season than in previous years. But, as we’ve come to expect from the Giants, that’s far from guaranteed. There’s still much work to be done.

It almost seems unthinkable that the New York Giants, one of the most successful teams in NFL history, has endured such a lean period. Not only have they not tasted success for nearly a decade, but they haven’t even been close. By all accounts, it has been difficult to be a fan of the Giants since their last Super Bowl success in January 2012.

Ridgewood NJ, on July 27th the Postmaster General Louis DeJoy delivered some grim news on the US Postal service,  The Postal Service is in a financially unsustainable position, stemming from substantial declines in mail volume, and a broken business model. We are currently unable to balance our costs with available funding sources to fulfill both our universal service mission and other legal obligations. Because of this, the Postal Service has experienced over a decade of financial losses, with no end in sight, and we face an impending liquidity crisis.

Trenton NJ,Senator Michael Testa, Assemblyman Erik Simonsen, and Assemblyman Antwan McClellan slammed Governor Phil Murphy for excluding public health experts who work within his administration and for the State from discussions and decisions regarding New Jersey’s reopening procedures.

“It’s shocking that Gov. Murphy has left his administration’s public health experts – who should be advising him – in the dark, only for them to discover new policy actions when they tune into the governor’s press conferences,” said Testa (R-1). “Murphy’s unilateral reign, which is tanking New Jersey businesses and livelihoods, is not grounded in science or data. His decisions are solely dependent on which way certain political winds are blowing, or whatever Governor Cuomo opts to do first. For the health and well-being of New Jersey families, I urge the governor to consult with his own advisors prior to making major policy decisions.”

Bari Weiss Quits in a Huff From New York Times Opinion Post

nyt 960x600 c center

Dear A.G.,

It is with sadness that I write to tell you that I am resigning from The New York Times.

I joined the paper with gratitude and optimism three years ago. I was hired with the goal of bringing in voices that would not otherwise appear in your pages: first-time writers, centrists, conservatives and others who would not naturally think of The Times as their home. The reason for this effort was clear: The paper’s failure to anticipate the outcome of the 2016 election meant that it didn’t have a firm grasp of the country it covers. Dean Baquet and others have admitted as much on various occasions. The priority in Opinion was to help redress that critical shortcoming.

Why D-Day Matters

D

James Carafano

“I’ll bet they’re asleep in New York,” muses Rick in “Casablanca” as he realizes there’s no sitting this war out. “I’ll bet they’re asleep all over America.”

It’s an important line to recall as we prepare to mark the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Rick’s conversion from pacifist to patriot in the classic 1942 film mirrored America’s transformation after Pearl Harbor from isolationism to taking its fights to the frontier of freedom.
