Millennials say they have “no friends”

Ridgewood NJ according to VOX.com ,22% of millennials say they have “no friends”, 25% say they don’t even have acquaintances. 30% feel lonely. This is the highest percentage of all the generations surveyed.

Members of the millennial generation are ages 23 to 38. These ought to be prime years of careers taking off and starting families, before joints really begin to ache. Yet as a recent poll and some corresponding research indicate, there’s something missing for many in this generation: companionship.

Ridgewood NJ, With high temperatures forecasted for today and tomorrow, Public Service Electric & Gas, New Jersey’s largest utility, is prepared to meet the demand for additional power and utility crews will be ready to respond to service interruptions should they occur.

“PSE&G continues to monitor our electric system to ensure our infrastructure is functioning normally and continues to supply power to all of our customers. Any system abnormalities are promptly investigated and addressed,” said Paul Toscarelli, PSE&G’s emergency preparedness director. “We have personnel on staff 24/7 and have added more crews in the field to immediately respond to power outages, power quality issues, as well as any public safety issues related to our facilities.”

HOBOKEN NJ , Newell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) today announced the companies  decision to move its corporate headquarters from Hoboken to Atlanta, Georgia, in order to facilitate a stronger connection between senior leaders and the operations of the business, and to enhance the company’s culture and sense of community. Three of Newell’s seven operating divisions (Writing, Baby and Food) are based in Atlanta.

A Newell spokesperson said the company has approximately 300 employees in Hoboken currently, and less than 100 — primarily in leadership roles — would be moving South. The company will maintain its E-Commerce division in New Jersey, with all employees staying in Hudson County.

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton announced the arrests of eight individuals as a result of a recent Fugitive Task Force operation. The July operation featured participation from 18 different agencies and resulted in multiple leads that may bring the task force closer to satisfying outstanding criminal arrest warrants, in addition to the eight arrests.

East Rutherford NJ, On Thursday, August 1 and Monday, August 5, NJ TRANSIT will offer Rail and Bus shuttle service to/from MetLife Stadium for the Rolling Stones concert.

Note that all MetLife Stadium rail trips are served via shuttle train to/from Secaucus Junction/Hoboken and Meadowlands Rail Station. There is no direct Rail service to Meadowlands Station from any other rail line or station.

Public Health Alert: Potential Measles Exposures in Ocean County

Lakewood NJ, The New Jersey Department of Health is warning residents about another confirmed case of measles in an Ocean County resident who potentially exposed individuals in Ocean County between July 10 and July 12.  

Anyone who visited Congregation Belz, 18 Prague Place, Lakewood, NJ 08701 during the following dates/times may have been exposed to measles:

  • July 10 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • July 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • July 12 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Department is working in collaboration with the Ocean County Health Department to identify and notify people who might have been exposed during the time the individual was infectious. For a current list of measles exposures, please visit the Department’s measles page.

Ridgewood Nj, This is a reminder that Stage II water restrictions remain in effect.

Odd numbered addresses may irrigate on Tuesdays and Saturdays only. Even numbered addresses may irrigate on Wednesdays and Sundays only. No irrigation is allowed on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays. Irrigation shall be performed before 10 am or after 6 pm, to limit evaporation.
