Ridgewood NJ, the Drug Enforcement Administration is advising the public of an alarming emerging trend of colorful fentanyl available across the United States.  In August 2022, DEA and our law enforcement partners seized brightly-colored fentanyl and fentanyl pills in 18 states.  Dubbed “rainbow fentanyl” in the media, this trend appears to be a new method used by drug cartels to sell highly addictive and potentially deadly fentanyl made to look like candy to children and young people.

Bergen County Historical Society : Soap on A Rope Keeps the Deer Away from Your Trees

River Edge Nj, from the Bergen County Historical Society a tip to keep deer away from young trees .To help repel deer, the Buildings and Grounds Committee of the Bergen County Historical Society has begun placing soap (Irish Spring) on the younger native trees that line the fences at Historic New Bridge Landing. The scent of the soap prevents deer from eating the leaves of the young trees so in turn, the trees can develop the strength they need as they grow. Platkin announced that the Division of Consumer Affairs has sent cease and desist warning letters to a combination of service, retail and restaurant operators in New Jersey. The letters alert merchants of their duty to disclose total selling price—including surcharges for using credit cards, debit cards or pre-paid cards (“Card Surcharges”)—to consumers.

Lodi NJ,  Continuing a 70-year tradition, the Bergen County American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary are again hosting the annual George F. Axt Memorial Fund dinner to benefit scholarships awarded to nursing school applicants. The event will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Joseph M. Lane American Legion Post 136 in Lodi. Tickets are $15 each and include dinner, coffee and dessert. Dance music will be provided by a DJ. A tricky tray will also be featured.
