Paramus NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco announces that the County of Bergen and Bergen New Bridge Medical Center will partner to bring mobile testing to communities across the county starting next Tuesday, May 12. This community mobile testing program will offer walk-up Saliva COVID-19 tests and COVID-19 Antibody tests to county and municipal residents as well as first responders, healthcare workers, and municipal or county employees who works in Bergen County with proof of employment.

Governor Murphy’s Lack of Planning for Reopening the New Jersey Economy will be Disastrous for every Small Business in our State

Rivervale NJ,  Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi calls Governor Murphy’s lack of planning  for reopening the New Jersey economy ,”This will be disastrous for every small business in our State. We must allow for safely reopening segments of our economy. Yes, this virus is serious. Yes, people have gotten very ill and some have died including people I know personally. Unfortunately a large majority of those who have died in Bergen County were our most vulnerable residents in our Veterans homes and Long Term Care Facilities. In fact out of the 1,261 deaths in Bergen, 721 of those deaths were residents of our Long Term Care Facilities. ”

Hackensack NJ, As of 12pm Tuesday, May 5, 2020, there are 16,504 total presumptive positive cases identified in Bergen County as per the CDRSS system; impacting all 70 municipalities. ** As of today, 63 Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in Bergen County report at least one presumptive positive case as per NJDOH.

J.Crew Files for Bankruptcy

Paramus NJ, J.Crew Group, which operates the J.Crew and Madewell brands, has become the first national US retailer to file for bankruptcy protection since the coronavirus pandemic forced a wave of store closures.

The clothing retailer said Monday that it has filed to begin Chapter 11 proceedings in federal bankruptcy court in the Eastern District of Virginia. The company also said it had reached a deal with its lenders to convert about $1.65 billion of debt into equity.

The retailer expects to stay in business and emerge from bankruptcy as a profitable company. Madewell, the fast-growing denim brand that had been slated for an IPO, will remain part of the business. J.Crew has stores in Garden State Plaza, Riverside Square and Bergen Town Center .

Rutherford NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of TYRIEF MARTIN (DOB: 05/15/1989; single; unemployed) on two counts of Sexual Assault and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child. The arrest is a result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief John R. Russo, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Jersey City Police Department under the direction of Chief Mike Kelly.

Englewood NJ, A Bergen County, New Jersey, woman today admitted participating in a scheme that involved the creation of false documentation to secure over $4 million in bank loans, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced.

Jennie Frias, a/k/a “Jennie Castillo,” 36, of Englewood, New Jersey, pleaded guilty by teleconference before U.S. District Judge Kevin McNulty to an information charging her with one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud.

Hackensack NJ, An Executive Order will be issued to re-open most sites within Bergen County’s Park System and golf courses effective Saturday, May 2nd with some exceptions such as the Bergen County Zoo and the McFaul Environmental Center, which shall remain closed. HACKENSACK NJ,  Sheriff Anthony Cureton would like to make the public aware of an ongoing phone scam where perpetrators are pretending to impersonate personnel from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. The scam attempts to extort money in the form of wire transfer, cash, and prepaid gift cards from potential victims, threatening them with arrest for “failing to report to jury duty” or “failing to appear for an outstanding summons.”
