Paramus NJ, in perhaps what some would call a day late and a dollar short, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco has announced that the County of Bergen/Bergen New Bridge Medical Center community mobile testing program will offer additional testing locations to reach more residents across Bergen County. In the first week of community mobile testing, over 2,000 residents were tested in Englewood, Hackensack, Fairview, and Garfield.

Ridgewood NJ, Beginning Monday, May 18, trucks will again roll out from the Pequest Hatchery to stock the remaining 50,000 11-inch Rainbow Trout in 31 waters throughout the state. Stocking will conclude on Thursday, May 21. There are no in-season closures and no need to wait until 5:00 p.m. on these waters.

America has lost a great treasure from its decades-long dependence on China; and breaking free from her grip, will be like ripping a scab off an old wound. To envision how badly this has hurt us as both a state and a nation, consider a hypothetical where a fictitious town’s retail stores are all owned by a tyrannical “slave owner” who deals in worthless currency (the Yuan) in exchange for US dollars, and then breaks every law with impunity while gaining complete control over all the resources you ultimately rely on. Furthermore, any attempt to begin to break free from their grip, would be met with supply-chain chaos in the short-term. This metaphor does in fact exist in the form of Chinese trade relations with the US, and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Now imagine our own state, New Jersey, as the economic driver and manufacturing powerhouse with the wherewithal to eliminate the second order effects of cutting the Chinese umbilical cord to the US.

Patrick Callahan said at Mondays presser , “With regards to the parks, Governor, although I think the weather Saturday helped tamp some things down, I’m sorry to report that the parks being open, our State Park Police reported an inordinate amount of urine and feces being left behind in the parks in water bottles. There is a zero tolerance policy for that. The whole idea behind the parks is to give our citizens the ability to go out there and enjoy fresh air and have time outside. That report from the Park Police was certainly disheartening, to say the least, and I just — our Park Police, our counties, our State Police, we will be on watching for that. We understand that the restrooms and public restrooms are closed, but people should plan accordingly and should not be urinating in bottles and leaving them behind, because I think that may lead us to take a different approach moving forward, if I could speak for the Governor in that regard. I really asked that that type of behavior not go on.”

Paramus NJ, J.Crew Group, which operates the J.Crew and Madewell brands, has become the first national US retailer to file for bankruptcy protection since the coronavirus pandemic forced a wave of store closures.
The clothing retailer said Monday that it has filed to begin Chapter 11 proceedings in federal bankruptcy court in the Eastern District of Virginia. The company also said it had reached a deal with its lenders to convert about $1.65 billion of debt into equity.
The retailer expects to stay in business and emerge from bankruptcy as a profitable company. Madewell, the fast-growing denim brand that had been slated for an IPO, will remain part of the business. J.Crew has stores in Garden State Plaza, Riverside Square and Bergen Town Center .

The arrest is a result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief John R. Russo, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the direction of Sheriff Anthony Cureton, and the Jersey City Police Department under the direction of Chief Mike Kelly.
