Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock High School Student Council hosted a toy drive in collaboration with the Glen Rock Police Department, which concluded today. Student Council members assisted officers in loading up the toys for delivery this afternoon. All of the toys will benefit local children in need. Glen Rock NJ, A two (2) vehicle late Saturday morning, 12/16, collision at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Rodney Street, Glen Rock resulted in the rollover of a Honda SUV, whose probationary driver was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus for treatment of minor injuries. A hydraulic lift tow truck righted the vehicle and removed it from the scene. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire Department, and Glen Rock EMS responded to the incident.
Glen Rock NJ, while in police custody for alleged DUI, the driver of white colored SUV was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a Monday evening, 12/04, crash in the 600 block of Harristown Road, Glen Rock. Police allege that at approximately 6:15 PM, the driver stuck a utility pole prior to slamming head on into a Borough owned tree and coming to rest. There were no passengers in the SUV when it crashed. A tow truck was dispatched to remove the heavily damaged vehicle from the roadway. Harristown Road was temporarily closed between Berkeley Place and Ridge Road while emergency crews worked.
Glen Roick NJ, on Sunday, December 3rd, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann, along with members of the Glen Rock Police Department day tour, placed a wreath at the Glen Rock Honored Heroes War Memorial in front of Borough Hall. This followed a ceremony at the Paramus Veterans Home to Honor and Remember over 80,000 Veteran Heroes throughout Bergen County. Each Police Chief was provided with a wreath to bring back to their community’s local memorial.

Fair Lawn NJ, a horrific single-vehicle crash near 21-00 Route 208 in Fair Lawn claimed a Porsche Boxer driver’s life in the early evening of Thanksgiving Day, 11/23. The vehicle struck a utility pole while traveling southbound on Route 208 just after 5:30 PM. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Route 208 southbound was closed at Harristown Road in Glen Rock for several hours following the tragedy. Fair Lawn Police was assisted by several County of Bergen agencies with the crash investigation. Glen Rock Police units provided supplemental traffic control. Fair Lawn Fire Companies #1 and #2 responded to the incident along with the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad and Fair Lawn EMS.
Glen Rock NJ,an early Monday afternoon, 11/20, fire, ignited when a Glen Rock homeowner was working with tools in a second floor bedroom, was extinguished prior to the arrival of firefighters from Ridgewood, Glen Rock, and Hawthorne. The homeowner sustained minor burns to his hand and self-transported to The Valley Hospital for treatment. Fire chiefs from Fair Lawn also responded to the incident.
Glen Rock NJ, an early Saturday evening, 11/11, crash on Radburn Road, Glen Rock, in which a sedan traveling northbound on Radburn Road stuck a parked SUV, heavily damaged both vehicles. No injuries were reported in the mishap, but the sedan and SUV were both towed from the scene. Glen Rock Police investigated the crash.

Glen Rock NJ, on Sunday October 29, 2023, Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps youth members, Colleen Martin and William Lee, participated in a Tri County Youth Squad Invitational Event held at the Chestnut Ridge Middle School in Rockland County. The full day event included morning lectures in preparation for an afternoon MCI (Mass Casualty Incident) drill for the youth. Youth and senior members from six squads located throughout Bergen, Orange, and Rockland counties were in attendance. The youth squad members were responsible for their actions from the dispatcher’s alert to the patient transfer. The event simulated a school building collapse with multiple patients as the result of a hurricane. Participating Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps senior member chaperones, Joannie Zanotti and Mark Ryan, participated in a senior squad only MCI drill in the morning and afternoon training sessions.
Glen Rock NJ, the driver of a tractor trailer allegedly disregarded a stop sign while exiting Route 208 southbound at Harristown Road, Glen Rock on Friday evening, 11/03, and collided with a sedan carrying at least three (3) occupants. Glen Rock EMS reported three (3) injuries at the scene, with two (2) victims requiring ambulance transportation to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. The wrecked sedan was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Fair Lawn Police assisted Glen Rock Police with traffic control.
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock police, in their efforts to investigate a series of bicycle thefts at local train stations, employed technology and assistance from their borough’s fire chief to apprehend a suspect. Detectives affixed a GPS tracker to a decoy bicycle, referred to as a “bait bike,” which they placed at the NJ TRANSIT Bergen Line station. On a Friday afternoon, the bait bike was taken from the rack, prompting the police to respond immediately.
Glen Rock NJ, gathered “early arrival” students were safely evacuated from the Alexander Hamilton School, located at 380 Harristown Road in Glen Rock, after a ceiling fire was reported at approximately 0830 hours on Wednesday morning, 10/18. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries to students, staff members, or first responders were reported. The cause of the small fire was being investigated. Glen Rock Fire Department was assisted at the scene by mutual aid fire departments from several nearby communities.
Glen Rock NJ, on Monday morning, 10/02, chemical spill inside of the Glen Rock Middle School and High School forced school administrators to dismiss all students at 12 noon, and to order the cancellation of all programs scheduled to take place at the facility on Monday afternoon and evening. Emergency responders at the scene were tight lipped as to what spilled, but school officials did say the incident happened in an office area. An individual was said to have been transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital, but no confirmation of this report was available on scene. Vehicles from multiple public safety agencies were seen parked in front of the school building for hours.
Glen Rock NJ, on September 21st at 6:06 AM an Emerson Road resident reported to the Glen Rock Police Department a prowler, dressed in a light-colored hoodie, in their driveway near their vehicles. The resident turned on lights both inside and outside of their home. When they did this, a light-colored sedan in the street honked its horn. The individual in their driveway then ran to the vehicle which fled the area on Belmont Road towards Harristown Road prior to police being notified.
Glen Rock NJ, on September 21st at 6:55 PM a Fair Lawn resident, who commuted from the NJ Transit Main Line Station reported that their black Shimano Infinity bicycle, with a reported value of $200, was taken from the bicycle rack at the NJ Transit Main Line Train Station. The complainant reportedly locked it to the rack around 8 AM and it was gone when they returned. A series of bicycle thefts from NJ Transit Train Stations are currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau and the NJ Transit Police.
