Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, at least one (1) summons was issued in connection with an early Saturday evening, 03/02, incident in which the driver of a 2008 Ford Mustang drove the vehicle northbound on NJ Transit railroad tracks near the Ho-Ho-Kus train station.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department is 100% volunteer. We are always looking for dedicated, impassioned, and well-rounded individuals to join our family. Firefighter Dane Policastro joined the Juniors at age 16 and became a Senior Member at 18.  He served as Lieutenant from 2017-21. Dane is involved with the community in various roles and is a Town Councilman.

Join the Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department. Continue the tradition of dedication and commitment to serving our community.

FedEx Ground Delivery Truck Slams Into a Utility Pole in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, FedEx Ground delivery truck slammed head on into a utility pole at the intersection of Deerhill Drive and Wearimus Road, Ho-Ho-Kus just prior to 12 noon on Friday, 12/08. The vehicle’s driver sustained a minor facial injury in the incident, but refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital. Ho-Ho-Kus Police, Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department, and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS responded to the incident along with crews from PSE&G’s Electric Division. Wearimus Road was temporarily closed between East Saddle River Road and Powderhorn Drive while PSE&G crews worked to replace a downed pole and restore electric service.

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ,on Monday the Ho-Ho-Kus Police reported and an injured Coyote last seen in the area East of Route 17 , just north of Schedler Park in Ridgewood off West Saddle River Road and Hollywood Avenue. Please call the Ho-Ho-Kus Police (911 or 201-652-1700) if you see this animal and do not approach!

SUV Careens off of Route 17 Southbound in Ho-Ho-Kus Narrowly Missing a Bus Stop Shelter

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the driver of a silver colored SUV was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a crash in which the vehicle careened off of Route 17 southbound in Ho-Ho-Kus early Friday morning, 10/20, and slammed head on into a large tree. A bus stop shelter was narrowly missed by the fast moving car, but a bus stop sign was not as fortunate. The incident took place just south of Hollywood Avenue. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage.

Multiple Fire Departments Drill on Techniques to Fight Electric Vehicle Fires

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department members joined Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Fighters and Ridgewood Fire Fighters in a joint drill on fighting Electric Vehicle (EV) fires which was hosted by the Ho-Ho-Kus Fire Department. After a discussion on techniques of handling EV fires, an outside demonstration was presented of a new nozzle apparatus that is designed to be deployed under the battery compartment.

911 Phone Calls late Sunday Evening Finds Driver Asleep Behind the Wheel in Ho-Ho-Kus

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, In response to multiple 911 phone calls late Sunday evening, 06/04, reporting an occupied vehicle seemingly stopped for no reason in the northbound travel lanes of North Maple Avenue near Brookside Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus, police officers from Ho-Ho-Kus and Ridgewood responded to the scene and found the vehicle’s driver asleep at the wheel.
