George Washington Middle School Has a New Principal

Ridgewood NJ, in a email ,Ridgewod Schools Superintendent Dr. Mark Schwarz announced the appointment of Mr. David Bailey as the new Principal of George Washington Middle School (GWMS), effective July 1, 2024. After an extensive search and a rigorous interview process, Mr. Bailey, currently the Assistant Principal at Ridgewood High School, was approved at tonight’s Board of Education meeting.

Ridgewood Crew Claims Two Gold, Three Bronze, and Ties for Second Overall with Five Team Medals at 2024 Stotesbury Cup

Philadelphia Pa,  Ridgewood Crew finished off its regularly scheduled spring season with a standout performance at the 2024 Stotesbury Cup, the largest scholastic rowing event in the country. In all, Ridgewood raced 11 boats and took home five medals — two gold and three bronze — tying for second place overall in podium finishes on the Schuylkill River this past weekend.

Ridgewood Schools Extend the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend

Ridgewood NJ, each year, Ridgewood Public Schools incorporates emergency closing days into the school calendar. This year, the District did not use all of the allotted days. Therefore, after reviewing the calendar for the remainder of the current school year, the district has decided that schools will be closed Friday, May 24, 2024 and Tuesday, May 28, 2024 for the Memorial Day weekend ,if  there is no need for the use of an additional emergency day prior to that date.

Village of Ridgewood Milling and Paving To Impact the Ridgewood Board of Education Meeting

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood School system, beginning Monday evening, May 20th, the Village of Ridgewood will begin the milling and paving of several roads throughout the Village. This work may result in delays, possible detours, or road closures. The work will begin Monday, May 20th at 7:30 PM and is expected to conclude by Friday, May 24th at 6:00 AM.

Sunshine State Bound!: Ridgewood HS Crew Claims Five Medals, Qualifies Five Boats for Nationals at Mid-Atlantic Championships

West Windsor NJ, at the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Youth Championships this past weekend on Mercer Lake, the Ridgewood Crew high school team brought home a gold, three silvers, and a bronze medal, while qualifying eight rowers in five boats for the USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida, next month.

Philadelphia Pennsylvania , Ridgewood Crew powered through a cold and
damp weekend at the 2024 City Championships in Philadelphia with a blistering hot
performance, sending nine of its 12 boats to the finals and bringing home three golds, two
trophies, and a silver medal. Its three gold medals tied with four other schools for the most
first-place finishes at the meet.
