Rutgers Physicians, Researchers, and other Health Science Faculty Join Rutgers Facility Unions and Overwhelmingly Approve Strike Action

New Brunswick NJ, the union that represents 1300 Rutgers University physicians, researchers, and other health science faculty have voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike, with 95% of clinicians who voted casting ballots in favor of a strike.

With this move, union members at AAUP-BHSNJ joined members at two other Rutgers faculty unions representing full-time faculty, graduate students, post-docs and part-time adjuncts, who held successful strike authorization votes earlier in the month.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School  AP Environmental Science students tested their own vehicles for carbon dioxide and air particulate matter emissions by using filter paper and bromothymol blue indicator solution. Although they found that many factors contribute to the end results, they found that newer technologies and modern emissions regulations have helped newer cars emit less carbon than older cars.

After their 3rd place (out of 10) finish last weekend at the Mid-Season Showcase, and scoring above the promotion threshold, they were promoted to the next competitive class. Their hard work this season paid off. Their show “Primary” is really fun and exciting!

Ridgewood Crew Wins TRIPLE Gold at the 2023 Haddon Hammer

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Crew team won six medals at the annual Haddon Hammer, held in person at Haddon Township High School. The event attracted 17 clubs. Ridgewood Crew had 55 entries, out of 286 total, second only to Moorestown High School/ Rowing Club. For the second year in a row, Ridgewood Crew won the Haddon Hammer Best Boat men Award, and honor bestowed upon the team with the fastest average time in the Boys category.

Ridgewood Board of Education (BOE) budget – 0% tax increase?

Ridgewood NJ, during Monday evening’s BOE meeting, Interim Ridgewood Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Leonard Fitts hinted that this year’s proposed BOE budget COULD result in a 0% related property tax increase. Our readers no doubt recall that the municipal budget will likely result in a related property tax increase of 3.96% or more (Yikes!). It would appear at this point that BOE members will easily win this year’s Ridgewood Taxpayer Appreciation Award.
