Ridgewood High School Transitions Back to Remote Learning

Ridgewood NJ, Due to two recent positive COVID-19 cases of unknown origin, Ridgewood High School will transition to all remote learning tomorrow, Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
In person instruction will resume on Monday, January 4, 2021.

Ridgewood High School Alumni Makes 2021 NFL Pro Bowl

Ridgewood NJ, persistence and determination pay off for . The Atlanta Falcons kicker and former Ridgewood High School Football star and a graduate of Benjamin Franklin Middle School and Ridgewood High School was named to the 2021 NFL Pro Bowl on Monday night, a little over one year after being released from his second NFL team.

Ridgewood Teachers Allegedly Asking for VISA Gift Cards for Christmas gifts

….Tis the season of giving and the fly has head from a number of members of the Facebook group  , “Ridgewood Moms and Dads ” , that Ridgewood Teachers  have been allegedly asking for VISA gift cards for Christmas gifts . How is this okay? I guess being in the top 20% of all districts in terms of pay plus the pension and benefits aren’t enough?  In May of 2019 the pay for extra point scandal emerged but apparently the lessons have not been learned ….

In this time of unprecedented events, aside from small businesses, education has been severely impacted. I am a college student that attends a public institution here in New Jersey. Results from the pandemic, like budget cuts, have just been unfathomable.

Ridgewood Schools Closed Today Goes Full Remote Friday

Ridgewood NJ, Due to the inclement weather, all Ridgewood Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, December 17. No virtual classes will be held.  Due to potentially hazardous conditions related to the aftermath of the storm, Friday, December 18 will be a full day of remote instruction. Your child’s principal will send building-specific schedules.  All afterschool activities are canceled. Thank you and please stay safe and warm.

RHS Sophomore Spotlights the Importance of Healthy Teen Minds in Athletics

Ridgewood  NJ,  Ridgewood High school sophomore, Brandon Shintani, has a vision to improve the mental health of athletes. Recognizing that training the mind is just as important as training the body, his online platform, Mind-Design Sports provides sports psychology tips for young athletes all over the world. Each month, a specific topic is highlighted through guest speaker podcasts and complementary blogs. The goal is to increase young athletes’ mental self-awareness and offer solutions to common issues that they experience; a worthy endeavor given the growing number of student-athletes who suffer from anxiety and depression.

Ridgewood Superintendent of Schools Outline COVID-19 Response

Ridgewood NJ,  at last Mondays Ridgewood BOE meet in the during the Superintendents report Dr. Fishbein provided a COVID-19 update and explained that the district continues to monitor the COVID activity in our community and surrounding areas. Many districts around us have transitioned to remote learning for a significant period of time. While we have had to pivot to remote learning in some buildings, most of those schools will reopen for in-person instruction this week. We have been successful by following contact tracing and guidelines of the NJDOH in collaboration with the Village of Ridgewood Health Department. As a result of all of the surrounding schools that are closing, the district is, however, starting to experience staffing issues, and we will closely monitor this situation.
