With Remote Learning are Snow Days a Thing of the Past ?

Ridgewood NJ, we have said it be for ,the COVID virus has been speeding up the implementation of  remote technologies ,be it work from home or learn from home . The use of remote learning during the COVID19 pandemic has increased the likelihood the snow days may be a thing of the past .

Sorry to all the grand parents who over the years have spent snow days with their grand children but thirty-nine percent of principals and district leaders say their district has converted snow days to remote learning days, and another 32 percent say their districts are considering the change, according to an EdWeek Research Center survey conducted earlier this month.

Generation Alpha and the New Digital Divide

Children born after 2010 and before 2024 belong to “Generation Alpha.” We’ve moved from the end of the English alphabet to the start of the Greek, but there may be more of a reset in store for these children.

The phrase “digital divide” dates back to the internet technology boom of the 1990s, a time when only wealthy parents and schools could put emerging information technology in the hands of children and hardly any downside could be envisioned.
