Saddle River NJ, on Friday afternoon December 22nd, Saddle River patrol units were dispatched to a residence off of Chestnut Ridge Road for a residential burglary. Unknown actors smashed a rear first floor window for access to the unoccupied home. The alarms system was not activated which allowed these actors ample time to ransack the entire home. Please set your alarms system as much as possible, even when you’re home.

Saddle River NJ, a defeated incumbent from the recent Board of Education election has been appointed to fill the unexpired term of a fellow trustee. Evelyn Nissirios, who lost her bid to newcomer Kunal Bhatia, was chosen to complete the remaining one-year term of former trustee John Peros at the December 13 board meeting. Although Nissirios was defeated by Bhatia for the full three-year term in November, the board expressed hope that having both candidates, who received voter confidence, would foster community unity. Peros resigned in October, triggering a 65-day window for the board to fill the vacant seat. Nissirios’ appointment was accepted on December 6th.

Saddle Brook NJ, on a Sunday in Saddle Brook, an incident unfolded on I-80 involving an overturned Ford pickup truck and a Honda Civic crashing into a guardrail, resulting in injuries. Following the incident, a 22-year-old individual from Teaneck was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI).

According to Saddle River Mayor Kurpis the borough is exploring several amenities, such as River view, sculptures, bird watching, fishing, walking trail, etc.

Saddle River Nj, the Saddle River Police Department Detective Bureau has become aware of a fraud scam utilizing (spoofing) the Saddle River Police main phone number (201)327-5300. The caller claims to be “Detective Cooper” and will tell you that you have an active outstanding warrant, they may even provide you with a warrant number. They ask you if you have been to Texas. While the may sound believable , please do not respond to the fraudsters questions and hang up. Call the main number for the Saddle River Police to confirm. East Allendale Road will be shut from 7AM to approximately 4PM on or about Monday August 14 and Tuesday August 15 in both directions at West Saddle River Road and East Saddle River Road. The road will be shut due to construction at the bridge.
