Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water has been made aware of a scam circulating on the web. It claims that there was a positive e. coli test and that the Ridgewood Water service area is under a boil water notice. This is not accurate or real. The fake message provides a link that directs the victim to a contact sheet requesting personal information. Please share this information regarding the scam and be vigilant.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church: “Wednesday Open Center”

Ridgewood NJ, on September 6th , Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church held its first “Wednesday Open Center” for our youth group. 53 teenagers were present! We even had several new comers from the Class of 2027! Open Center is held every Wednesday night for all high school teens 7:30-9pm. The youth center is located in the school building. ( Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 1 Passaic St. Ridgewood ) .

Electric Line Catches Fire In Ridgewood after Lightning Strike

Ridgewood NJ, at least one (1) single family home was evacuated on Gateway Road, Ridgewood late Saturday afternoon, 09/09 when a “hot” primary electric line apparently caught fire after being hit by lightning, fell to the ground, and continued to burn. Ridgewood firefighters became concerned that heat from the fire could ignite an underground gas service line to a nearby home and ordered the family to evacuate it as a precaution. Firefighters were awaiting the arrival of technicians from PSE&G’s separate gas and electric divisions to assist with remediating the situation. Ridgewood Police assisted with traffic and crowd control.

Ridgewood NJ, the rain stopped  just before 5 pm and the 28th Annual Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce Car Show  despite thunder a and a little early drizzle was good to go .  Over 350 cars , visitors from all over the tri- state area descended the the central business district  to see the cars ,visit friends and enjoy a nice family friendly night in the Village of Ridgewood .
