Ridgewood NJ, Voters be aware: If you do not want to see Vagianos elected to public office, AND you do not want to vote for a Republican, then you have an option in the form of Anthony J. Pellicia, running under the logo “You Tell Me.” Some are saying they simply will not vote that line because they cannot stomach voting for Vagianos. Leaving it blank does not vote against him. Vote against him; we do not need an Aronsohn clone in any elected office. This is not to be considered an endorsement of Anthony J. Pellicia .

I hope my liberal neighbors think about the quality of their candidate for a moment and don’t rush to punish Trump by voting Vagianos. Overall, the democrat candidate list is a joke.

Why?

The Democrat party in NJ has a larger voting base than Republican and many people vote via “D” or “R” regardless of candidate.
The number of voters who will use your “Pellechia” strategy is limited and will not have an impact on the overall election for Vagianos, since it will bleed off some (but not enough) votes from Vagianos, and it WILL NOT increase the vote count of Rooney (the ONLY candidate who has ANY chance of beating him).

If you really want to defeat Vagianos, you need to suck it up and vote for Rooney. Increasing Rooneys vote count (even by a little bit) is THE ONLY CHANCE (however unlikely) you have to defeat Vagianos.

If you just want to feel good about yourself while still helping elect Vagianos, then don’t vote for Rooney and vote for Pellechia. But then you have to live with the fact that you helped put this guy in office.

Voting for Pellicia is the same as leaving blank as he cannot win. In order to defeat a candidate you need to make sure that his adversary gets more votes than he does. voting for Pellicia denies the more viable candidates (Republican) of a vote as well. so really if you want to defeat this candidate logically you will want to pull the lever for the Republican opponents. Simple arithmetic.
Just can’t vote for Vagimous based on his past performance.

Serious question. I have never met Mr. Vagianos despite 25 years living in Ridgewood. I have seen nasty comments online, but never any actual information as to what is behind the invective other than comments about the wall outside his restaurant.
I would appreciate the information that has resulted in such strong feelings. Is that too much to ask? A response without the nasty emotional outbursts would also be appreciated.

Voted in pouring rain and did as suggested re: Vagianos/Pellechia. It won’t change anything but it made me feel better. Prefer not to leave a line blank but cannot vote for a Republican in today’s political climate even as a vote against Mr. Wall. That party has gone insane.
