Mahwah NJ, University of Virginia junior Kyle Teel and former Mahwah High School star was selected by the Boston Red Sox with the No. 14 overall pick of Major League Baseball’s First-Year Player Draft.
As a four-year starter at Mahwah, Teel was named Gatorade New Jersey High School Player of the Year in 2020. In his final season at Mahwah, his junior year, he batted .574 with eight home runs and 31 RBIs. He was rated as New Jersey’s top prospect in the class of 2020 by multiple organizations.

SCRANTON PA, The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Nicholas Dombek, age 53, of Thornhurst, Pennsylvania, Damien Boland, age 47, of Moscow, Pennsylvania, Alfred Atsus, age 47, of Covington Township, Pennsylvania, and Joseph Atsus, age 48, of Roaring Brook, Pennsylvania were indicted by a federal grand jury for conspiracy to commit theft of major artwork, concealment or disposal of objects of cultural heritage, and interstate transportation of stolen property. All four men were also charged with substantive counts of theft of major artwork and the concealment or disposal of objects of cultural heritage. Dombek was further charged with a substantive count of interstate transportation of stolen property.

Ridgewood NJ, Nick G., a student at Benjamin Franklin Middle School, loves learning about different sports teams and especially their mascots. Recently, Nick, a 7th grader in the school’s RISe program, was invited to throw out the first pitch at a Jackals home game! Nick was super excited and was able to meet all of the teammates. Nice toss, Nick!

Paterson NJ, Hinchliffe Stadium is a historic sports venue located in Paterson, New Jersey, United States. It was named after John V. Hinchliffe, the city’s mayor at the time of its construction. The stadium was built in 1932 as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project during the Great Depression.

We realize it is an isolated moment in time ,but if we are short on fields why does Glen School now have one ball field when it used to have two? By the way the grass looks nice.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Baseball and Softball opening day . Ridgewood Baseball and Softball’s 70th annual Opening Day Parade and Family Fun Day to kick off the start of the Ridgewood baseball and softball seasons at Vets Field on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 9 AM to 1 PM.
More than 1200 athletes marched in the parade through town and join their families at VETS field for the Opening Day Family Fun Day Celebration. There are food trucks, inflatables, music, vendors, a Varsity
Baseball game, and several rec baseball and softball games. It is a great community event to kick off the start of the season .
