Ridgewood NJ, Americans find themselves in a tipping dilemma, navigating through the rise of “tipflation” and evolving expectations. A Pew Research Center study involving 12,000 US adults reveals that 72% believe tipping is now expected in more places than five years ago. However, 40% oppose businesses suggesting tip amounts, and 72% are against automatic service charges or tips on bills.

Ridgewood NJ, Deeply Rooted; Ridgewood’s Little Plant Shop window WON! It was a fun Oktoberfest weekend, despite a day of rain. In case you didn’t know- AP Art students from RHS were paired with participating businesses, and a 4th grade student who signed up for a special art program. Together, they designed and executed amazing window art for the Halloween holiday. Deeply Rooted was done by my former student Emma P!!! Here she is with her RHS Art teacher, Ms. Maxwell, also a former RHS student! “Feed me, Seymour….” Congratulations! (posted with parental permission).

Free Parking Coming to Ridgewood Every Thursday Between Thanksgiving and Christmas from 4 pm and 8 pm

Ridgewood Guild’s Cash Mob Hits the Central Business District

Ridgewood, NJ, the Ridgewood Guild orchestrated a local shopping event in the central business district known as the Ridgewood Guild’s CASH MOBS! The event kicked off with a complimentary breakfast at on of our favorite spots Pierre & Michel and continued with a visit to five local retailers: Olive R. Twist, Pazazzed, Beauty Club Salon, Hot Jewelry Box, and Hunt and Orchard. Shoppers spent over $2000 at these retail stores, supporting the local community. The Ridgewood Guild encourages everyone to stay engaged and look forward to Holiday Cash Mobs during one of their Late Night Thursdays. It’s a reminder to “Stay Local, Shop Small” and support local businesses.

Unoccupied Car Rolls into Raymond’s Restaurant in Ridgewood’s Central Business District

Ridgewood NJ, an unoccupied Toyota Yaris rolled away from its parking spot in downtown Ridgewood early Monday afternoon, 10/09, and struck another vehicle before slamming into a busy outdoor dining area at the Raymond’s Restaurant. Thankfully, no one was injured in the freak accident, and damage was limited to a table, some chairs, and an outdoor flower box. Neither the Yaris nor the vehicle it struck were badly damaged; both were driven from the scene. Ridgewood Police issued one (1) summons in connection with the mishap. Ridgewood Fire Department and a paramedic team responded to the incident as a precaution. Two (2) restaurant patrons were evaluated by EMTs; both refused medical attention.

Ridgewood “Octoberfest” Moved to Sunday October 8th – 11-6pm!

Ridgewood NJ,  the Octoberfest was moved to JUST Sunday October 8th – 11-6pm! Come Hang with the family – live music, shopping, hayrides, food & more!

The Ridgewood Guild’s Tony Damiano said in a Facebook post,” Regretfully we have to cancel Oktoberfest tomorrow (Saturday.) due to the expected rain. The hayride people cannot conduct the ride because of dangerous conditions and some of the musicians can’t play. The good news is….Sunday Is supposed to be beautiful so we are extending the hours. The new time is 11:00 – 6:00.”
