Bagelicious in Ridgewood is Reopening on National Bagel Day , Saturday January 15!

Ridgewood NJ, according to Bergen Commissioner Ramon M Hache , Bagelicious is reopening on Saturday, January 15! Very excited to have Bagelicious reopen after being destroyed by a fire in April 2020. The new location is just a few doors up the street, next to the Ridgewood Cycle Shop in what used to be Mango Jam. Stop in and support this local gem and say hi to Gus the owner.

PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and Zelle To Report Payments Of $600 Or More Starting January 1st

Ridgewood NJ, beginning January 1, 2022 payment platforms ,PayPal, Venmo, CashApp and Zelle will be required to issue 1099Ks to any taxpayer who receives $600 or more for transactions tagged as “Goods and Services”.  This is a change from our current state of affairs which requires 1099Ks to be generated only for $20,000 of gross revenue and 200 individual transactions of this type.

Ridgewood Water is Once Again in Violation of Two New Jersey Drinking Water Standards

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water is once again in violation of two New Jersey drinking water standards . Ridgewood Water exceeded the PFOS at 13 parts per trillion and PFOA at 14 parts per trillion mandated MCL safety limit. An MCL is the highest allowable concentration of a contaminant in water delivered to a user of a public drinking water supply. (Milligrams per liter)MCLs apply to public water systems, including public community and public nontransient noncommunity water systems. Public community and public nontransient noncommunity water systems are required to routinely monitor for contaminants for which MCLs have been established and to take any action necessary to bring the water into compliance with an MCL.

Sunday Night Crash in Ridgewood’s Central Business District Sends One to The Valley Hospital

Ridgewood NJ, one (1) summons was issued in connection with a two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and North Walnut Street, Ridgewood on Sunday evening, 01/02. Ridgewood firefighters used hydraulic tools to extricate an adult female passenger of a minivan involved in the collision. The victim was transported to The Valley Hospital by Ridgewood EMS. A crash related fluid spill was also attended to by Ridgewood Fire Department. Both vehicles involved in the crash appear to have been totaled and were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Ridgewood Police Patrol Division handled the crash investigation.

NJ Minimum Wage to Rise to $12/Hour for Most Employees on January 1st

2021 Downtown for the Holidays Was a Runaway Success for Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Recently there has been some debate over the reopening of Bagelicious in Ridgewood after an April 2020 fire destroyed the original shop. The Ridgewood blog has received word from sources in New York City that supply chain issues have claimed a new victim , breakfast. Bagel shop owners from New York City to the Carolinas are struggling to find cream cheese and fear the supply shortage could continue leaving bagels high and dry, per The New York Times.
