Glen Rock Starbucks Manager Reports Being Threatened by an Apparent Homeless Person

Glen Rock NJ, on Sunday the 11th at 1:57 PM , according to Glen Rock Police the manager of Starbucks in the Rock Road Central Business District reported being threatened by an apparent homeless man he found climbing on the store’s garbage dumpster. An officer located the subject at Boulevard and Kenmore a short time later. The man, who confirmed having no current address, denied that he threatened anyone and claimed that he had been harassed. The matter was documented should either individual desire to sign complaints. No unlawful conduct was witnessed by the responding officers.

Retired Glen Rock Borough Administrator Bob Freudenrich Has Died

Glen Rock NJ, “It is with regret that the Glen Rock Police Department has learned of the passing of retired Borough Administrator Bob Freudenrich. He was Glen Rock’s first Borough Administrator, hired in the early 1970’s, retiring in the late 1990’s after 27 years of service. Bob remained active in the community up until the time of his passing. He most recently took part in Glen Rock’s Memorial Day services and the IDA Parade on July 4th.”

Glen Rock Police Rush Highly Intoxicated Man to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center for detox

Glen Rock NJ, on July 2nd at 416am Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a report of a male adult laying in bushes near the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and William Place. The subject was found to be in a highly intoxicated state and was subsequently transported to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center for detox. A follow-up investigation is being conducted to confirm the man’s identity.

Ridgewood Youth Picked Up in Glen Rock after Alleged Illegal Entry

Glen Rock NJ, according to Glen Rock Police on June 29th at 917pm, a Main Street resident contacted police after an unknown individual entered the common hallway of his apartment building. The resident believed that the individual may have also opened the unlocked door to his apartment. The resident was able to locate one of the individuals involved a short distance from his apartment and identified the subject to the responding officers. The subject, a 15-year-old Ridgewood male, was detained by officers until his mother was able to respond a short time later. The juvenile was released to the custody of his mother without incident. It could not be determined if the subject had actually entered the complainant’s apartment.

Glen Rock Hard Hit by Tuesday’s Thunderstorm

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock was hit hard by an early evening thunderstorm on Tuesday, 07/06. Of the dozens of reported storm related incidents, these stood out: A single family home on Amherst Court took a heavy hit from a huge shade tree, and service on NJ Transit’s Bergen County Line was temporarily halted due to a downed tree just south of Harristown Road. Fortunately, despite the seemingly Borough wide existence of damages caused by strong winds and heavy rain, no storm related injuries were reported. Of course, Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department personnel were on hand the ensure their residents’ safety, and were kept extremely busy throughout the entire storm event.

Harristown between Gramercy & Stonefield in both directions will be closed. Detours in place.

Glen Rock NJ, on the afternoon of June 24, 2021, following the last day of the school year, Glen Rock’s Crossing Guards were honored at a luncheon courtesy of Victor Quinn at the Glen Rock Inn, a long-standing tradition.
Adult school crossing guards, first established in Glen Rock during the early 1950’s, play an important role in the lives of our school children. They help them safely cross the street at key locations.

Couple from Newark Charged in Glen Rock Residential Burglary

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police Department Detective Bureau completed an on-going investigation regarding a residential burglary that occurred on the 500 block of Maple Ave back on January 20, 2021. This past week, Det. Doney charged a 28-year-old male by the name of Christopher Lassiter of Newark, NJ with burglary and theft and a 19-year-old female by the name of Taina Peppers of Newark, NJ with conspiracy to commit burglary for their alleged roles in the January 20th burglary. Both parties were issued complaint summonses and were assigned court dates for their first appearances.

Glen Rock NJ, Tick borne illnesses are very common in the United states especially in the north eastern region. Ticks could be a vector for the spread of various infections at different stages of growth.

The common types of ticks found on the eastern coast of US are American dog tick, black-legged tick (also known as deer tick), lone star tick, and Gulf Coast tick. The common diseases spread by tick bites are Lyme disease, Babesiosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Tularemia, and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

Glen Rock Resident Commuter & Central Business District Employee Parking Enforcement to Resume

Glen Rock NJ, effective on Thursday, July 1st the Borough of Glen Rock will be resuming the sale of Resident Commuter and CBD Employee Parking virtual permits.  Attached below residents can find notices for both resident commuters and CBD employees explaining the process.

Permit sales will begin on July 1st, not before, and there will be a 30 day grace period before enforcement begins.

Glen Rock Police Are Searching for a A black Infinity G37 that Fled the Scene of an Accident on North Route 208

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a multivehicle accident on Route 208 North just prior to Lincoln Avenue. Two vehicles remained on the scene, however, one fled. One person suffered minor injury but refused medical aid. A black Infinity G37 fled the scene north on Route 208, however, witnesses were unable to provide a license plate number. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident and can identify the vehicle is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.

Heated Dispute at the Wilde Park basketball Court in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to 9-1-1 reports of a heated dispute at the Wilde Park basketball court involving two large groups some of whom decided to arm themselves with baseball bats. The responding officers, assisted by reinforcements from the Ridgewood and Fair Lawn Police Departments, were eventually able to deescalate and disperse those involved. No injuries or property damage occurred, and no one present claimed to be a victim or requested any police assistance. Later it was reported that the conflict lasted about 10 minutes and NO Baseball bats were found .
