Glen Rock NJ, A uniformed Glen Rock Police Patrol Officer is assigned to monitor a peaceful weekday protest being regularly conducted by a man who claims his child was abused at a local day care center.
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police have issued a SCAM ALERT:” I just received a phone call on my personal cell where the caller ID indicated it was the Social Security Administration. A recorded voice told me there was a problem with my SSN and I needed to speak with an agent in order to prevent suspension of my benefits. I was transferred to a male with a foreign accent.
These scams are constantly evolving and becoming more sophisticated. Please educate yourself, family and friends. Education is the only way to avoid these scams. Be very very wary of any unsolicited calls asking for your personal info. Call the GRPD with any questions if you’re unsure.”
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Department put out a reminder that New Jersey law requires drivers approaching stationary emergency vehicles, tow trucks, garbage trucks and other highway safety vehicles displaying red, blue and/or amber flashing lights to move over one lane or, if not safe to move over, then slow down below the posted speed limit.
Glen Rock NJ, A three (3) vehicle Saturday evening, 10/27, collision at the intersection of Ackerman Avenue and Rock Road, Glen Rock resulted in two (2) individuals being transported by ambulances to The Valley Hospital. All injuries were reported to be non life threatening in nature. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock EMS responded to the incident. One (1) of the vehicles wound up on the front lawn of single family home located in the 500 block of Rock Road. All three (3) vehicles involved in the crash were towed from the scene.
Glen Rock NJ, PSE&G has hired a contractor (Osmose Utility Services, Inc.) to perform annual pole inspections for the 2018-2019 term. The purpose of the inspections is to help ensure the safety and reliability of the electric distribution system, extend the life-cycle of the poles, and reduce maintenance and replacement costs.
Glen Rock NJ, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of CHRISTOPHER J. GREIG (DOB: 4/20/82, single; and unemployed) of 26 Parker Avenue, Hawthorne, New Jersey on charges of Stalking, Contempt Of A Stalking Restraining Order, Cyber-Harassment, and Harassment. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Glen Rock Police Department under the direction of Chief Dean Ackermann.
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Fire Department and Hawthorne Fire Department personnel rushed to Glen Rock Police Department headquarters, 1 Harding Plaza, Glen Rock on Thursday afternoon, 10/11, in response to a possible chemical spill within the building. Firefighters dressed in protective gear entered the building and removed at least two (2) containers of an unknown substance(s) found in a mechanical room. Glen Rock Police Lieutenant Frank Riggio stated that there were no injuries reported in the incident. He also said that it appeared as if one or more of the containers found by firefighters may have been leaking, causing the odor which triggered a phone call for Fire Department assistance.
Glen Rock NJ, October 5 , the Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department reported that at 0222 hours this morning, GRFD was dispatched for a reported working fire on Sycamore Terrace. On arrival, Chief Jennings and Asst Chief Aguilar made entry into the basement and observed a heavy smoke condition. Engine 833 (Lt Pimlott) established a water supply and stretched a hand line. Ladder 832 (Capt Burbano) assisted with ventilation and overhaul as well as the rescue of two cats from the structure. Special thanks to Ridgewood, Hawthorne, Fair Lawn, Wyckoff and Paramus for invaluable mutual aid assistance.

Consultants from the West Hudson Associates will be conducting meetings to elicit feedback on the professional qualifications expected of the next Superintendent of Schools. Glen Rock NJ , A fast moving 4-door Mercedes sedan mounted a curb in Glen Rock’s main business district and slammed into the front of Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizza located at 234 Rock Road early Wednesday afternoon, 10/03. Personnel from Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire Department, Fair Lawn Fire Department, and Hackensack University Medical Center rushed to aid Mercedes’ adult male driver, and an adult male pedestrian who was grazed by the vehicle after it mounted the sidewalk. Both victims refused ambulance transportation. No one inside the business was injured in the incident. The vehicle was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. A building inspector tagged the damaged pizzeria as “unsafe for human occupancy.”
Glen Rock NJ, due to New jersey Transit and New Jersey Department of Transportation upgrades to Harristown Road railroad crossing , Harristown Road will be closed from Glen Avenue to Stonefiled Road from Thursday September 27th to Friday October 5th .
There will be a police officer to help pedestrians safely walk in the work zone. The crossing guard who was previously posted at Harristown Road and Stonfield Road will be at Harristown to Glen Avenue.
Parents who want to drive their children to and from the high school, middle school, and Hamilton School will be able to access the area by following detours that will be put in place.
Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police quickly nabbed a husband and wife duo in connection with the alleged shoplifting of “thousands of dollars” worth of cosmetic products from the CVS Pharmacy, 175 Rock Road, Glen Rock on Monday morning, 09/24. CVS loss prevention personnel detained the female suspect in the store until police arrived. Her husband was taken into custody about one (1) mile away in front of their split level home. Both suspects were transported to Glen Rock Police headquarters for processing. Glen Rock Police Police Chief Dean Ackermann assisted in the arrest of the male suspect.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water announced that it is hosting a series of Community Open Houses in Wyckoff, Midland Park, Ridgewood and Glen Rock to provide the public with an opportunity to learn more about Ridgewood Water’s regular maintenance, system upgrades, and compliance with new and evolving regulations for drinking water, including Per – and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). PFAS are man-made chemicals that are found to be widespread and extremely persistent in the environment.
Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police Department reminds everyone that on October 3rd, 2018, the Federal Emergency and Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) beginning at 2:18 p.m. ET. The test will assess how ready the distribution channels are in case a national message needs sending and determine whether improvements are needed.

Family, friends and community are invited to visit the Memorial Site throughout the day for personal reflection and prayer. At 6:30pm that evening, rain or shine, we will gather together as a community at the Memorial Site for a more formal observance which will be highlighted by song, prayer, lighting of candles and the reading of the names of our eleven Glen Rock residents whom we lost that day.
