Hackensack NJ, at 4:00pm Thursday May 11th the City of Hackensack Fire Department Engine 1, Engine 2, Rescue 1 and Deputy 3 were dispatched to Route 80 Eastbound on the Hackensack River bridge for a reported motorcyclist down.
Closter NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the upgraded charges of JESUS YUNGANAULA TENEMPAGUAY (DOB: 04/10/1986; married; cook) of 33 Johnson Avenue, Floor 2, Hackensack, NJ for vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, and hindering apprehension. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Closter Police Department under the direction of Chief John McTigue.
Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of GARFIELD JONES (DOB: 6/02/1974; married; cook) of 441 E. 32nd Street, Apt. 1, Paterson, NJ and ROBERT MCCRAE of 592 East 29th Street, Apt. 5, Paterson, NJ (DOB: 9/18/1970; married; student bus aide) on drug distribution charges. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer-in-Charge Captain Michael Antista.
Ridgewood NJ, the driver of a Ford Bronco sustained non life threatening injuries following a Friday morning, 03/17, collision at the intersection of Mack Center Drive and South Paramus Road, Paramus. A large box truck allegedly hit the Bronco in the intersection before it fled in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to a local hospital by a Paramus EMS ambulance. A paramedic team from Hackensack University Medical Center also responded to the incident. Paramus Police is investigating the hit and run crash.
Fair Lawn NJ, Fair Lawn Police say an 83-year-old BP male employee was attacked and assaulted at a BP gas station in Fair Lawn. The 83-year-old victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson with facial injuries.
Glen Rock NJ, on Wednesday January 4th at 11:01 PM ,relatives of a 73-year-old Glen Rock resident reported that the resident, who suffers from dementia, was missing following their discharge from Hackensack University Medical Center. Through investigation, with the assistance of the Lodi Police Department, officers were able to locate the resident at a supermarket in Lodi. They were found to be unharmed and were reunited with family members. Their vehicle was later located in Fair Lawn.
Carlstadt NJ, a Passaic man has been arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Carlstadt on Friday night that resulted in the death of a 61-year-old pedestrian from Secaucus.
Ridgewood NJ, a two (2) vehicle Friday night, 01/13, head-on crash at the intersection of Fairmount Road and North Monroe Street, Ridgewood caused serious injuries to at least two (2) individuals. Multiple ambulances transported victims to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. A paramedic team from The Valley Hospital provided Advanced Life Support care to one (1) of the victims. Ridgewood Fire Department personnel assisted with extricating victims from the wreckage, assisted with basic EMS care, and mitigated a crash related fluid spill. Midland Park Police assisted Ridgewood Police with traffic control. The roadway remained closed for an extended period following the crash to facilitate a complete accident investigation; lighting was provided by Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel.

Hackensack NJ, at approximately 2:25pm City of Hackensack Fire Department Engine 4, Rescue 1 and Deputy 1 responded to the intersection of Essex Street and State Street on reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment. On arrival they found a two car motor vehicle accident with two people still in one vehicle. Rescue 1 began setting up extrication equipment and Engine 4 stretched a precautionary hand line. Both occupants inside the vehicle were able to self evacuate. The occupants were transported to HUMC with non life threatening injuries. Rescue 1 and Engine 4 remained on scene and applied absorbent to minor fluid spill. On duty city tow removed both vehicles. This intersection has been the scene of a series of mishaps over the years with residents saying there needs to be a left turn light Essex Street and State Street.
Ramsey NJ, a horrific Wednesday afternoon, 12/28, collision on Route 17 northbound in Ramsey, involving two (2) motor vehicles and a pedestrian who was crossing the busy highway when he/she was struck, resulted in the temporary closure of Route 17 in both directions through portions of Allendale, Ramsey, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River.
The pedestrian sustained life threatening injuries and was rushed by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. Numerous public safety agencies and the NJDOT responded to the incident. On scene were Ramsey Rescue ,Ramsey, New Jersey Volunteer Fire Department , Upper Saddle River Police, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office , Valley Health System.
Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, a 27-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a car on Route 17, according to police .Reports are that she was struck her struck shortly before 6 p.m. between Sheridan and Hollywood Avenues.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood Emergency Services units responded to a horrific vehicle vs. pedestrian collision at the intersection of Northern Parkway and Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood on Tuesday morning, 11/15.
Hackensack NJ, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hackensack Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the area of Essex Street & Lehigh Street in Hackensack, NJ on Saturday, November 12, 2022, around 5:00 p.m. The Hackensack Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at that location with two victims shot. Responding officers found two male victims, each with a gunshot wound.
Responding Hackensack Police Officers found one male victim who sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. A second victim, 28-year-old Vidal R. Nieves, was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased from a gunshot wound.
Hackensack NJ, one person was killed and another injured in a Saturday early evening shooting in Hackensack, officials said. According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office the two men were shot near Essex and Lehigh streets at around 5 p.m. Both were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center where one was pronounced dead. The other victim had non-life threatening injuries.
