Ridgewood NJ, The Village of Ridgewood is making significant strides with the West Glen Avenue sidewalk project (Phase 1) this week, working in collaboration with Bergen County and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP) to design the remaining sidewalks down to S. Hill Road and Heights Road. This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve pedestrian safety, which has become a priority for the Village Council.
Ridgewood NJ, with one failed initiative after another , the Village of Ridgewood Council puts pedestrian safety back on the front burner . Thanks to Councilwoman Lorraine Reynolds who championed the transfer of $500,000 designated for repairs to the village’s historic Zabriskie-Schedler house toward an estimated $1 million sidewalk project , known as the West Glen Avenue sidewalk installation safety initiative at the budget meeting in May, Reynolds argued that the historic home repairs would be stalled by lawsuits and the money should be put to more immediate use on “safety projects.”
