Kingsbridge Lane Pedestrian Bridge Removal Underway for Rehabilitation

Ridgewood NJ, big changes are happening at Kingsbridge Lane as the long-awaited removal of the pedestrian bridge is finally underway. According to Village Manager Keith Kazmark, the bridge is being transported to the contractor’s workshop for rehabilitation. Once restored, it will be reinstalled and ready for use, just in time for spring 2025.

Kingsbridge Footbridge in Ridgewood Now in Limbo

Ridgewood NJ, according to resident Suzanne Ruane even though it is only a block from the proposed sports complex at Schedler Park the Kingsbridge footbridge sits  in limbo, creating a dangerous situation for pedestrians and residents.  Begging the question once again is why does Ridgewood have and engineering department ?

Saddle River Footbridge in Ridgewood In Need of A Major Overhaul

Ridgewood NJ, on Tuesday, the East Saddle River footbridge at the bottom Kingsbridge Lane was closed with caution tape and horses. One Wednesday , additional plywood blockades were installed by the Ridgewood maintenance crew, as they unsecured a portion of broken fencing. A Village source told the Ridgewood blog ,”the bridge is shot” .

East Side Ridgewood Residents Lose Power Due to Fallen Tree on West Saddle River Road

Ridgewood NJ, A portion of West Saddle River Road in Ridgewood was blocked for an extended period of time on Tuesday afternoon, 09/19. Personnel from Ridgewood PD, FD, and the Village’s Shade Tree Division responded to the incident. The tree could not be removed until a troubleshooter from Public Service Electric & Gas disconnected a primary power line. Several residents in the area reported the loss of electric power to their homes. FD personnel assisted one homeowner in opening her garage door, which she ordinarily does with an automatic opener. No injuries were reported during the incident.
