Trenton NJ, Senator Steven Oroho, Senator Declan O’Scanlon, and Senator Kristin Corrado said a superficial report commissioned by Governor Phil Murphy does not absolve his administration for its clear failures that led to the massive loss of life in New Jersey’s long-term care facilities due to COVID-19.

“The Murphy Administration paid a consulting firm $500,000 to rush a report that attempts to shift blame for thousands of nursing home deaths to anyone but the governor,” said Oroho (R-24). “What taxpayers received back is a glossy report that repackages the State’s data in colorful graphs and charts. The report glosses over the fact that the administration forced our LTC facilities to admit COVID-19 patients, which led to thousands of deaths. With that glaring deficiency, the entire report is suspect.”

TRENTON NJ,  The Department of the Treasury delivered a budget update to the Legislature today, providing a detailed revenue report that illustrates the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on New Jersey’s finances and laying out plans to close the looming gap for the remainder of the extended fiscal year through a series of deep cuts and spending deferrals.

A report on the financial condition of the State budget for both Fiscal Years 2020 and 2021 was required pursuant to the COVID-19 Fiscal Mitigation Act (P.L.2020, c.19), which extended the end of the state’s fiscal year from the traditional date of June 30 to September 30, and also extended various tax filing and payment deadlines from April 15 to July 15.

Murphy Administration Manipulates Long Term Care COVID-19 death totals

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

River Vale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi  comments on the Murphy Administration manipulation of Long Term Care COVID-19 death totals. According to Schepisi ,”1400 deaths have been removed by the State of N.J. between yesterday and today from the total number of COVID deaths from our Long Term Care Facilities because although the deaths appeared to be COVID caused deaths they were never lab confirmed by the facilities.
But even worse, the State is continuing to count these deaths in the overall State total! Today’s total death count was just reported as 10,586 deaths with 162 new deaths. Yesterday’s total death count was 10,435 deaths with 75 new deaths. Friday’s death count was 10,138 deaths. How do we continue to have 10,586 total deaths if we have subtracted out 1400 in the past 24 hours? If DATA DETERMINES DATES the data better make sense.”

Trenton NJ, Senator Joe Pennacchio, while applauding the Governor for opening up parks, is calling on the Murphy Administration to begin reinstating “elective” surgeries in the state.

“We are finally allowing people to get out and walk in our parks and reap the physical and emotional health benefits of exercise. Now it’s time to prioritize the general health of the population and the fiscal stability of our essential hospitals,” said Senator Pennacchio (R-26). “With the emphasis on the virus, at-risk patients have not had access to important and necessary procedures. It’s time to allow people who are not infected to get the care they need from hospitals, health centers, doctors, dentists and eye doctors.”

Trenton NJ, Governor Hands Out Benefits to Non-Citizens While State Residents Suffer

Senator Michael Testa chided Governor Phil Murphy for signing legislation that grants driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

“New Jersey families take a backseat to illegal immigrants under the Murphy administration,” said Testa (R-1). “Trenton Democrats prioritized handouts for illegals over lowering our sky-high property taxes and properly funding schools for our children. I will continue to fight this lunacy and prioritize making New Jersey more affordable for the hard-working legal residents of our great state.”

Testa voted against S-3229, which creates a second tier of driver’s licenses for those who are unable to prove lawful presence in the United States.

“First, it was college tuition aid for illegals, now its driver’s licenses. What’s next?” asked Testa. “This move is an insult to every law-abiding citizen of the Garden State. We need to get this state back on track and focus on what residents really want – a more affordable New Jersey.”
