“Fishbein, your second “resign” letter reads more like a self congratulatory I done a great job reflection of your career and most significantly, your perceived value to the citizens of Ridgewood during your tenure at the Ridgewood school district. Well Dan, you really have a flair for the dramatic. Rather than reflecting on the sorrow and pain associated with the 19th anniversary of 9/11, you decided on that day to “formally resign” only to then to sit back and watch the staged support and for you with pleas of “…Please stay…” over the next 1 1/2 weeks.”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Football has a new head coach . In May, the school officially removed the “interim” tag and made Dave Cord its sixth full-time coach since 1943. He served as defensive coordinator on Johnson’s staff for five seasons and has been in touch with his predecessor frequently. Cord has now coached seven football games at Ridgewood High School .

Last fall Cord, took over a 5-0 team, after health issues forced longtime coach Chuck Johnson out of action. Ridgewood went on to defend its sectional title, then upset Union in a wild North Group 5 final to claim its first NJSIAA regional championship.
