False Alarm Sends Ridgewood High School into “lockdown”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School was placed into “lockdown” status late Monday morning, 04/17, following receipt of a 911 telephone call reporting the presence of an armed individual wishing to do harm located in the school’s student cafeteria. Ridgewood Police officers rushed to the scene and thoroughly searched the building with the assistance of several nearby police departments; everything was found be in order. Ridgewood Fire department and EMS personnel were on standby outside of the building as a precaution. An investigation of the 911 telephone report’s origin is now underway.

Ridgewood Emergency Services Names Rahil Bhatia Member of the Month

Ridgewood NJ, congratulations to Ridgewood Emergency Services April member of the month Rahil Bhatia. Rahil is a probationary member of Special Operations and a TIES Sergeant. He has been involved in the department since 2019. Rahil is inspired to help those in community where he has grown up and fortunate to work with a passionate group of volunteers. Rahil is currently a senior at Ridgewood High School and looks forward to attending the University of Michigan the fall.

A big thank you to the cast and crew, directors, producers, attendees, and volunteers who spent countless hours rehearsing and performing. This year’s grand total? Our Ridgewood Board of Education members were in attendance to applaud the more than $228,000 raised!

Debris Build Up in the Ho-Ho-Kus Brook May be Contributing to Flooding at Ridgewood High School

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood resident Boyd Loving caught some pics of blockage in Ho-Ho-Kus Brook near Spring Avenue that may be contributing to flooding at Ridgewood High School.  Before we blame every thing on “Climate Change”, in New Jersey, the responsibility of cleaning debris from clogged waterways can vary depending on the location and type of waterway. According to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, “the property owner of the land under the river or stream is responsible for debris removal after a storm event.
