Ridgewood Fire Extinguishes Car Fire on South Broad Street

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire extinguished a passenger vehicle fire in the parking lot of an auto body shop located at 264 South Broad Street, Ridgewood on Friday afternoon, 06/19. No injuries were reported in the conflagration. The vehicle, a 4-door Buick sedan, was totaled. No tow truck was necessary due to the charred remains’ location.

Mobile COVID-19 Testing Comes to Graydon Pool Parking Lot in Ridgewood

Ridewood NJ, Community mobile testing resumes on Monday June 22nd in Ridgewood offering both COVID-19 saliva diagnostic and COVID-19 antibody tests. The COVID-19 saliva diagnostic test is available to all residents and the COVID-19 antibody test is available for those who have previously tested positive as well as first responders and healthcare workers. The test site will be open from 9-10am for first responders/healthcare workers and from 10 am – 2:15 pm for the general public.

The programs will begin at 8:30 p.m. and are free to the public.  Please bring a chair or blanket and we encourage you to wear a mask and social distance your chairs on Veterans Field.

…the fly has learned that Village officials form the building department have been walking around the central business district and threatening all the restaurant owners that they will send the cops over if you don’t have their permit hanging in their place of business . Meanwhile permit processing is very slow and backed up , yet the Village still has time to walk the downtown to badger restaurant owners ?

New Jersey Department of Education today Released Guidance for School Districts to Conduct Summer Educational Programming in-person

Trenton NJ,  Recognizing the educational and social-emotional value to students of resuming in-person instruction, the New Jersey Department of Education today released guidance for school districts to conduct summer educational programming in-person, including Extended School Year (ESY).

“This is a crucial step that allows schools to plan summer learning programs and special education services that will provide assistance to those students who need it the most,” said Education Commissioner Lamont O. Repollet. “We’ve heard from countless parents and educators about the importance of summer learning and ESY, especially now that so many students and families have faced unexpected obstacles with remote learning over the past three months. We believe schools can provide the necessary summer instruction while ensuring the safety of students and teachers, and their families.”

Ridgewood Parking Kiosks and Meters will be back in use Today June 15, 2020

Ridgewood NJ, Parking kiosks/meters will be back in use on June 15, 2020.  As a reminder, the rates are $1/hour in the lots and $1.25/hour on the street. Kiosks take credit cards or coins. Parking kiosks have replaced most of the meters, but there are still 15 minute meters at the beginning of each side street, off of East Ridgewood Avenue.  Parkmobile may also be used at parking spaces, by downloading the app.

Lisa’s Mediterranean Cuisine appreciates all their hard work , and they are dedicating the reopening on June 20 to our Valley Hospital frontline workers . They will be serving lunch and dinner from 11:30 AM to 8 PM, to our heroes with no charge.
