Restaurant Industry Has Lost Two-Thirds of Workforce

Ridgewood NJ,  From beloved corner diners, to favorite independent restaurants to well-known chains, the entire restaurant industry has lost two-thirds of its workforce, more than eight million employees, as a result of COVID-19 closures, according to a new national survey conducted by the National Restaurant Association and included in a new industry recovery plan sent to Congress today.

Given the coronavirus quarantine, I’m working from home and have noticed some very inconsiderate behavior from *some* dog owners.

Case in point: the other day, a woman and her young son allowed their large dog to urinate and poop on our front yard (for which I pay thousands of dollars each season to professionally maintain and landscape). So, what is a concerned citizen to do?”

Dear Ridgewood School Community,

This afternoon, Governor Murphy announced that schools will remain closed through at least Friday, May 15, to help continue to flatten the curve and slow the transmission of coronavirus. This decision was made in careful consultation with the New Jersey Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Education, as well as other key stakeholders. With over 75,000 cases of COVID-19 in New Jersey, we must all work together by social distancing and following the guidelines to help curtail the spread of this disease.

Trout Season is Open

Ridgewood NJ, Trout season is open and most waters have received their full allotment of trout. All regulations remain in effect except there will be NO IN-SEASON CLOSURES on the 14 major streams where they normally would be in effect. State Wildlife Management Areas remain open except for the Round Valley Reservoir boat ramp. Help keep WMAs and other areas open by observing proper social distancing!

Ridgewood NJ, Eugene Thomas March 23, 1942 ~ April 10, 2020 (age 78) , Eugene Thomas was an American soul, gospel, R & B treasure and a certified legend in the Northern Soul movement. He was theformer lead singer of the late 60s NJ Soul group “Epitome of Sound” whose single “You Don’t Love Me” holds the distinction of being one of the top 10 Northern Soul records of all time.
