Ridgewood NJ, its simply amazing that the Ridgewood Planning Board has not posted the agenda yet on the Village website for march 3rd ,that according to Northjersey.com  contains the draft of Ridgewood’s new master plan.

“The new master plan will cap nearly three years of work by a four-person subcommittee that includes Joel, Deputy Mayor Susan Knudsen and planning board members Joel Torielli and Melanie McWilliams.

The plan has seen amendments during the past few decades but hasn’t had a complete overhaul since 1983.

NV5 is scheduled to present a draft plan to the Planning Board March 3.”

Ridgewood NJ, ,  a diverse group of New Jersey patient, healthcare, and employer advocates opposed Governor Murphy’s proposal to include significant fees on pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesale distributors in the Fiscal Year 2021 State Budget. These groups — including the American Cancer Society of New Jersey Cancer Action Network, Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey, the New Jersey Pharmacists Association, the New Jersey Council of Chain Drug Stores, New Jersey Business and Industry Association, and the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey — cite serious concerns that such substantial fees would harm patients and increase healthcare costs.

Will Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache Run For Bergen Freeholder?

Ramon Hache ridgewood NJ

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, according to David Wildstein of the New Jersey Globe , Bergen County Freeholder David Ganz will not seek re-election to a seventh term. The buzz is that  Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache has emerged as a leading candidate to run on the Bergen County Democratic organization line to replace Ganz, a former Fair Lawn mayor who was first elected to countywide office in 2002 has been battling health issues for several years.

Mayor Hache is reportedly the pick of Paul Juliano, who became the Bergen County Democratic chairman last summer. The filing deadline to run for freeholder at the Bergen County Democratic convention is Friday at 4 PM. Candidates must file letters of intent with signatures of at least five county committee members from six different municipalities. If he wins, Hache would become the first Dominican-American to serve on the Board of Freeholders.

Hache is up for re-election this year in Ridgewood and his candidacy for countywide office would create an open seat in the Ridgewood council.

Trustees Morgan and Wilson Announced they are Quitting the Ridgewood School Board

Ridgewood NJ, Mr Morgan and Ms Wilson announced that they will not be seeking re-election in April at last night’s board of education meeting. The Ridgewood blog has been very disappointed with Mr. Morgan over the years and considers the two part of the rogue element that runs the school board ignoring the demands of taxpayers .
Reader says ,’Wow, what a meeting. Morgan and Wilson announced they are quitting and Wilson was very mean and bitter. So if Morgan and Wilson are not running again, then who are the candidates from the developers? They would not give up on the 95M bond easily, that’s designed to bring new tenants to their apartments.”

The other issue over the years is how the Ridgewood school board works and its ” culture of secrecy”  , which we would suggest it is well past time Ridgewood with an enormous school budget starts run itself in a far more professional open manner ,instead of a fiefdom for special interests .

Reader says ,”The developers want a new library, Performing Arts Center and more parking garages”

“The library and Board of Education will be our undoing. The debt that they will incur is irresponsible. It is not clear that anyone in power stands for fiscal responsibility.

The developers want a new library, Performing Arts Center and more parking garages. It makes their rentals more appealing and will attract the NYC and Hoboken renters.

The residents will be paying for everything.”

Ridgewood Village Hall theridgewoodblog.net 17

“Property taxes in Ridgewood are out of control. See the late model tinted window SUVs and private firing range (for a force that has never discharged a weapon) fur the Ridgewood Police Department, or the three full-time professional firefighters redundantly stationed 24/7 at Engine 311 on West Glen when the main firehouse is less than a mile away. Don’t even get started on the teachers who scream ”impasse” the second the BOE proposes reducing their platinum healthcare benefits…”

“What about the old taxi stand on North Broad Street. The village owns that building, and it’s in so much disrepair. It’s actually embarrassing for the Village of Ridgewood to have that eyesore in the CBD. Waking around that building it’s ridiculous but it looks like it’s filthy no one has operated the first floor in probably 30 years. Are used to be Ridgewood taxi downstairs and then they moved upstairs the whole building needs to be got it out and restored the village owns that site. It would be a great site for the Ridgewood Police Department to have a central headquarters in the CBD. I think it would make a Great public relations please/fire/emergency services something like that why not. Yes It’s small inside but I think it will be good for an office.”
