Reader says , “This is a HUGE embarrassment for Ridgewood taxpayers”

pemerintah telah blokir 800000 website 90 persennya situs porno1

Someone’s head should roll for this major screw up by the BOE’s IT department, but we know from past experience with similar boondoggles by municipal government entities (e.g., the theft of over 3/4 million dollars worth of parking utility revenue), that NO ONE WILL EVEN BE DISCIPLINED, let alone fired.
This is a HUGE embarrassment for Ridgewood taxpayers and the Ridgewood Public School System. Property values are certain to take a hit from this.
Voters should take note of the names of Board members who were on duty when this occurred (Ms. Brogan, Ms. Krauss, Mr. Morgan, and Ms. Smith-Wilson) and vote them out when their respective seats are up for grabs.

Reader says , “If not for the jobs in NYC the majority of NJ residents would be on the unemployment Line”

lasttraintoclarksville_theridgewoodblog

If not for the jobs in NYC the majority of NJ residents would be on the unemployment Line.
Corporate employers have left the state, knowing full well competent employees are willing to move along with them.
The only reason others have not left is due to state corporate welfare tax deals to keep them here.
Businesses will NEVER move here.
As the Internet connects us together for telecommuting, there will be no need to live close to NYC and work.
The only people left here will be the public employees whose unions have killed the golden goose…the same people who leave the state after retiring hand have their NJ taxpayer paid over generous Cadillac health care benefits while collecting the check in North Carolina.
The way to solve the state budget problem is to tax any public pension checks that get sent out of state

Reader asks , “$500K golden toilet anyone?”

"Golden Toilet" by Maurizio Cattelan retrospective at the Guggenheim

So far we have about $13mn in debt obligations related to parking garage bonding’s… given the historical pattern of delays, expensive ‘change orders’, and cost overruns associated with any project the Village has financed ($500K golden toilet anyone?), my guess is this will come in over $20 million and run at an operating loss of more than $1 million annually. And that’s without ‘coin boy’ and his enablers stealing our quarters. All this, just as interest rates spike. It adds up to more financial lunacy from the Village, and taxpayers get screwed again.

Reader says , “Meter rates will be too high, the majority of retail businesses in town will suffer “

parkmobile_meter

Everyone should be focused on the rates required in the future to pay the debt service on the garage. Meter rates will be too high, the majority of retail businesses in town will suffer only a few nearby restaurants will benefit. A pending fiscal disaster, being backstopped by residents.
The 2-1 YES vote did not sufficiently outline the costs of the garage. The NO voters likely considered the costs. The majority of the YES voters thought it was “free”, of would be totally self sustaining.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Emergency Services Volunteers were well prepared for the storm that caught many by surprise. Making a difficult commute and getting around the Village. Chief Tony Lillo stated that “our line officers reached out to additional volunteers in advance of the storm which resulted in us staffing 4 Emergency Vehicles with over 1 dozen volunteers. There were multiple EMS calls and also traffic assistance calls during the intensity of the storm”, said Chief Tony Lillo. “ The Ridgewood Emergency Services are on call, 24/7, 365 days a year, no matter what the weather brings, we are ready to serve,” Chief Lillo concluded. Please support the Ridgewood Emergency Services through FOREST. (Friends of Ridgewood Emergency Services Teams).

Reader says , “To not buy the Elks would be shortsighted “

ridgewoodwaterlogo-061912-rn-tif

Ridgewood Water is well managed and they are responding to unfunded mandates. Did you not tune in and note that for the past few years they have run the water company well below their own projections and below the operating expenses of similar public and private water companies? The presentation should be online. There is a well directly next to the house on Goffle so my guess is the need the space for additional pumping or treatment. Buying the Elks and moving the Water staff of Village Hall out gives the RPD the office space they need in Village Hall. It also will consolidate water staff for better efficiency and oversight. Buying up the property directly next to the municipal complex, regardless of the future occupants, makes sense in my opinion. It will address any future needs that arise. To not buy it would be shortsighted; I hate additional spending (I am vehemently opposed to the mega-garage) but these purchases make sense.
