RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Pickleball continues to make waves in Ridgewood as construction began last week to expand the Glen School pickleball facility from four courts to six, according to Village Manager Keith Kazmark. The project reflects the growing demand from the village’s passionate pickleball community, alongside ongoing efforts from the Parks & Recreation Department.
Ridgewood Nj, according to the Village Manager Keith Kazmark , over the weekend, our Parks Division and employees from Engineering, along with volunteers from Grace Church rebuilt the rain gardens in Graydon and Habernickel Parks.
Ridgewood NJ, in February of 2023 Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd publicly requested that previous plans for the construction of a 90-foot baseball diamond at the Lower Hawes Field be revisited. In October of 2024 the Village Council took a major step to improve the safety and quality of Hawes Field at Pleasant Park by awarding a $97,645 contract for its resodding. The project aims to eliminate unevenness and make the field safer for the many local students and athletes who use it regularly. The resodding project will be entirely funded through the Village’s registration and permit fee trust fund, ensuring that no municipal budget or capital funding will be impacted. According to the Village Manager Keith Kazmark , the lower Hawes field project began this week! New natural sod is being installed to make the playing field safer for our young athletes.

Ridgewood NJ, according to Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh, who is the Village Council liaison to the Parks & Rec Conservation Board and the Field Committee, the Parks & Recreation Department is happy to announce that Summer Day Camp will return this year. While there may still be some changes to the camp, we can confirm that it will run from Tuesday, June 29-Friday, August 6from 9 am-1:30 pm with the exception of days when it rains and camp is cancelled. Campers will be placed in groups with a 20:2 ratio or less. Summer Camp will still consist of organized games, arts & crafts, and swim time at Graydon Pool.
