Ridgewood NJ, the CDC has issued new guidelines intended for all Americans, whether you own a business, run a school, or want to ensure the cleanliness and safety of your home. Reopening America requires all of us to move forward together by practicing social distancing and other daily habits to reduce our risk of exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19. Reopening the country also strongly relies on public health strategies, including increased testing of people for the virus, social distancing, isolation, and keeping track of how someone infected might have infected other people. This plan is part of the larger United States Government plan external iconand focuses on cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, workplaces, businesses, schools, and can also be applied to your home.
Ridgewood NJ, a board of ed candidate is using national politics in local elections and going to far left groups and asking support on issues that are not relevant to school / non-partisan local government. Lets try to keep bad politics out of the schools and focus on learning .
While we have not received any official notification from the Governor, I sense that people are slowly coming to the conclusion that schools may not reopen and remote learning may continue for the duration of the school year. Governor Cuomo stated in one of his press conferences that particular challenges or events define many generations. The Spanish Flu, World War II, the Vietnam War, and 9/11 are examples of historical events that had a lasting impact; similarly, this global pandemic will be a landmark moment for this generation.
The Census is important. Clickhereto read Dr. Fishbein’s April column, which appeared in The Ridgewood News. Also, see the attached flyer about the Be Safe; Be Counted Zoom event that is being hosted by the Ridgewood Public Library tonight at 7:00 pm. Don’t forget to send your redacted “receipt” to your principal or just let your principal know it is complete. Let’s see which school has the highest percentage of completed questionnaires. If you have multiple children in a school, each one counts. If you have children in multiple schools, send the receipt to each principal.

Ridgewood NJ, fortunately no injuries were reported after a Ford SUV crashed front first through a chain link fence and rolled down an embankment before coming to a stop on a school baseball field in Ridgewood early Sunday afternoon, 04/05. Damage to the vehicle was light; the fence was destroyed. Fortunately, the mishap occurred several hundred feet away from a small group of children who were playing on the school grounds. Ridgewood Police Patrol Officer Colin Donnelly assisted the SUV’s adult female driver in getting her vehicle off the field and back into a nearby parking lot.

Something to think about with a $115 million Ridgewood school budget vote coming up >
So many April Fools’ jokes come to mind today…unfortunately, none are funny. I wrote this sentence first thing this morning; then, many people called, texted, and even forwarded an April Fools’ Day letter allegedly from my office saying we have no April break and are going to be in school until July 21st…not true! But, it was kind of funny and “got” me and many others. People are creative.
Good afternoon! I hope this update finds you and your families doing well. Although we are not together in school, we are continuing to find creative ways to maintain some of our traditions. This week is Spirit Week! For me, I have celebrated our Elementary School Spirit Week as follows:
Maroon Monday: Ridgewood gear! As Superintendent of the Ridgewood Public Schools, I have plenty. Back in the good old days when my wife, Sue (she asked me not to only refer to her as my wife…. done) and I cleaned out some closets, we found 17 Ridgewood sweatshirts, dozens of t-shirts, and much more. We did not donate any. My kids participated in sports at RHS, so we had plenty of gear to go around.
Team up Tuesday: I am a Dallas Cowboys fan. Ok, stop rolling your eyes and muttering under your breath. For all of you Giants fans, Jason Garret is your problem now.
