Saddle River NJ, the Saddle River Fire Department was requested to a home on the East side of town for a reported structure fire. Upon signing in service, Chief Salvatori was advised by Saddle River Police Department that the attached garage was fully involved and he asked for his 2nd alarm mutual aid companies.

Saddle River NJ, Friday night just after 10pm the Saddle River Fire Department was requested to Route 17 South for a vehicle fire. Arrival on the scene and confirmed the engine compartment of the vehicle on fire. Engine 1131 arrived on scene and the crew stretched a hand line and extinguished the fire. Ladder 1141 arrived on scene and provided a traffic block to protect the crews operating and the ladder crew assisted with overhaul. Tanker 1134 and Engine 1133 also responded and stood by as an additional water source if needed. There were no injuries as the driver was able to pull the vehicle over and safely exit.

Saddle River NJ, its 93° and sunny in Saddle River today. During this scorching heat on July 20th the Saddle River Fire Department has responded to 3 calls, including a vehicle fire on Route 17. A quick response from Saddle River Fire & Saddle River Police resulted in containing the fire to the engine compartment of the vehicle. After this busy morning, the members made a quick stop at Dairy Queen to cool off!

Saddle River NJ, according to the Saddle River Fire Department Friday afternoon , the Saddle River FD was requested to E Saddle River Road for a wire down on fire. Asst. Chief 1140, Engine 1131, Engine 1133 and Rescue 1142 responded. Crews shut down the roadway and awaited the arrival of PSEG to secure the power. Engine 1131 extinguished the fire once the power was secured and crews were back in HQ a little after 2.5 hours after dispatch. No injuries reported .

Saddle River NJ,on Tuesday March 24th at approximately 12:10 pm the Saddle River Fire Department was requested to a home within the borough for a report of a possible fire. Upon their arrival , Chief Salvatori arrived on scene and found smoke showing from the residence and requested a second alarm be transmitted. Engine 1131 arrived on scene and began advancing a hose into the structure to extinguish the fire. Ladder 1141 arrived on scene second , began laddering the building and assisting with the fire attack. The fire was under control shortly at approximately 12:30pm and Saddle River Fire Department sends a big Thank you to all of the mutual aid who responded to the scene and covered the firehouse.

Saddle River NJ, Friday Morning morning, the Saddle River Fire Department was dispatched to Route 17 North & E Allendale Rd for a reported motor vehicle crash with entrapment. Saddle River Police Department, Chief Salvatori and Assistant Chief Kaufman arrived on scene to find a tractor trailer leaning to one side, with one occupant trapped within the vehicle. Rescue 1142 (OIC Lt. Pink) and Engine 1131 (OIC Lt. Biondi) arrived on scene, and began securing and stabilizing the tractor trailer. Crews then removed the passenger door, and assisted Valley Health System BLS & ALS crews remove the patient from the vehicle. Once the patient was removed from the vehicle, Fire department crews awaited the arrival of NJDOT, Bergen County Hazmat, and the tow to remove the vehicle. Saddle River Operations also assisted in the removal process.

Saddle River NJ, At 16:40 the Saddle River Fire Department was requested to E Allendale Road underneath the 17 overpass for a reported vehicle fire.
Assistant Chief 1140, Engine 1131 & Engine 1133 responded and quickly knocked the fire down. The driver was safely out of the vehicle, and crews were clear around 17:30 .

Saddle River Nj, at 01:45 this morning, the Saddle River Fire Dept. was requested to a home on E Saddle River Rd. for a reported garage fire. Saddle River Police Department units were on patrol, and located a garage on fire. Saddle River Police Department was able to use two fire extinguishers to knock down the fire, but they advised there was still fire in the walls. Chief 1130 arrived on scene to find a 2 story garage, occupied as a residence with smoke pushing from the open garage door at which time he requested the 2nd alarm be dispatched. Asst. Chief 1140 arrived on scene and assumed operations as Engine 1131 (OIC 1170) arrived, taking the driveway and preparing for fire attack. Crews located a minor fire behind the wall, which was quickly extinguished. Once the fire was out, the incoming 2nd alarm was canceled, and our assignment was held with Engine 1131 and Ladder 1141.
Thank you to our mutual aid for responding, and excellent job to the police officers that were able to knock the fire down. It is always important to remember to test your smoke detectors, and ensure they are working properly. Smoke detectors save lives.

Saddle River NJ, The Saddle River Fire Dept was dispatched for a fully envolved car fire on Friday evening April 19th on Rt 17. Saddle River Units 1130, 1140, 1131, 1141, and from Upper Saddle River Fire Department 1240, 1233 responded. Crews went right to work and attacked the fully envolved vehicle.
