Glenn Rock NJ, Communities in this region, including Glen Rock are being targeted by thieves seeking out unlocked vehicles, garages and sheds. Some drivers will often leave the key fob in their vehicle when they park, leaving the vehicles vulnerable as thieves need only press a start button for ignition. These are the specific individuals who are being targeted. In the past 3 months 4 vehicles have been stolen from driveways in Glen Rock overnight. In all cases the owners left the key-fobs and other valuables in their vehicles. In addition, many have reported property stolen from their unlocked garages, sheds and vehicles. Most often this occurs on quiet side streets where the thieves were able to sneak onto the property in the dark, hiding in the shadows, checking for unlocked doors when no one is in sight.

NJGOP Chairman Says Murphy’s Fire Arm Executive Order Continues Targeting Legal Gun Owners

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Trenton NJ,  Today, Governor Murphy signed an Executive Order attacking the Second Amendment. NJGOP Chairman released the following statement in response:

“Like most sensible New Jerseyans, the NJGOP also supports common sense gun laws, but once again Governor Murphy shows his inability to take aim at gun crime and instead continues his practice of targeting legal gun owners.

“Today’s Executive Order is big on bravado and short on substance. It creates the same false sense of security that the rest of his political pandering creates.

“On behalf of the NJGOP, I call on Governor Murphy to do something meaningful to combat gun crime and stop criminalizing gun owners, manufacturers and retailers.”

Mahwah NJ, Frank T. Pallotta, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s Fifth Congressional District, released the following statement in response to the report that Governor Phil Murphy’s tuition assistance program awarded $3.8 million in college aid to immigrants that were brought here illegally:

“At a time when our own citizens — including our veterans — are sick, struggling with crippling student loans, and sleeping in the streets, why are we looking to provide free healthcare, tuition, and housing to unauthorized immigrants?  Josh Gottheimer fails to call out and stand up to members of his own party even as they push policies that will lead our country into fiscal ruin and harm our citizens.”

Reader says , “there are swarms of professional thieves being dropped off in our historically safe quite neighborhoods”

ridgewood police

“The problem is not cars getting stolen from Starbucks because keys left in car running. Nor is it stupid people living with us. The concern to all of us is, and should be, that there are swarms of professional thieves being dropped off in our historically safe quite neighborhoods. THAT has not been going on my entire life. As for the police, they did respond quickly and they did watch the neighborhood the nights after to see if they came back for stuff they had dropped in haste running away. I also know that because they stopped a car dropping off my child returning home late one evening shortly after one of the incident to check the person driving. I find it quite misplaced to direct blame or criticism towards the Police when this is occurring all over the county and in fact I know it has been going on in similarly nice areas in the Princeton area as well.”

Trenton NJ, Senator Jim Holzapfel and Assemblymen Greg McGuckin and Dave Wolfe of the 10th Legislative District are speaking out against Governor Murphy’s directive forcing jails in the state to reduce their cooperation with federal immigration authorities. The legislators blasted it as yet another step in the Governor’s quest to turn New Jersey into a sanctuary state.

“Governor Murphy’s directive will prevent our jails from working with ICE to deport known criminals who are already in custody,” said Senator Holzapfel. “It’s an outrageous and dangerous political statement that jeopardizes the safety of millions of New Jersey residents. We shouldn’t allow the Governor to create a sanctuary for criminals in our state.”

Trenton NJ, the Murphy administration may get what it wished for ,President Donald Trump said on Friday he was considering sending illegal immigrants in the country to so-called sanctuary cities.
