570 Village of Ridgewood Residents signed a Petition to Eliminate the Ridgewood School Budget Vote

Ridgewood NJ, according to North Jersey media 570 Village of Ridgewood residents signed a petition to eliminate  the Ridgewood School Budget Vote. A proposed ballot question would ask voters to approve moving school board elections, held annually in April, and Village Council elections, held bi-annually in May, to the November general election date. Thereby eliminated the annual school budget vote and public oversight over the massive $115 million dollar School budget .

“I witnessed the RPD arrest of the young woman. They had already gently warned the kids against breaking any laws, such as obstructing a highway. The arrestee was using a megaphone to berate the PD and any law abiding citizen who would dare to come anywhere in the protester’s path.

Ridgewood NJ, according to  the Bergen Recorrd a co-founder of Ridgewood for Black Liberation and her attorney are calling for state, county and local officials to investigate the Ridgewood Police Department after she was arrested during an Independence Day march. Thria Margareth Bernabe, 22, was arrested Saturday while participating in a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in Ridgewood, her hometown. She is scheduled to appear in Ridgewood municipal court July 23.

FAIR LAWN NJ,  Indivisible NJ 5th District, the progressive grassroots group based in New Jersey’s 5th Congressional District, is endorsing challenger Dr. Arati Kreibich for Congress. The group’s mission is to hold elected officials accountable for their votes and actions. They have been closely following the NJ5 Representative, Josh Gottheimer, and believe that Dr. Kreibich would better represent the residents of the District. According to Jeanne Stella, “Arati running is the best thing to happen to the 5th District since we got rid of Garrett.”

Ridgewood Gun Violence Awareness Rally to be Held June 8 at 10 am

Ridgewood NJ, In commemoration of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache, Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, Ridgewood JOLT, Moms Demand Action, Students Demand Action, and members of Sandy Hook Promise invite residents to join a rally at Van Neste Square in Ridgewood, on Saturday, June 8 at 10 am. Participants are encouraged to wear orange, the favorite color of Hadiya Pendleton, a Chicago girl who was shot at age 15. Today orange signifies the fight for a future free from gun violence.

Ridgewood NJ, strange goings on at Ridgewood JOLT, the organization that claims :

Ridgewood JOLT is a community organization activating citizens to JOIN ORGANIZE LEAD and TEACH. Our mission is to protect and fight for our democracy through active participation in upcoming elections, monitoring and acting on legislative activity, educating ourselves and others as to our rights and our laws, and using the power of our purse to affect change and require accountability from corporations dependent on our economic participation.

Yet three of its members are in full agreement in attempts to “filter” and censor a group of ‘known agitators” clearly subverting the cause of democracy that thrives off of vigorous debate and goes gainst its stated mission.
